Layindo, the High-Elf Paladin

(By Lystulliv, professor at the University of Al-Drifa)

Young people consider Layindo the Paladin as a model. He was undoubtedly among the best of Meriador’s disciples! Of course you also have Hysmuhl, Lyslianth and L’laskost but Layindo was the perfect association of Human strength and Elven subtlety. Even a scatterbrain like Miss Lyllambelle would have been speechless at his sight... I assume you didn’t get it, Lyllambelle? No? So I’ll be more explicit: SHUT UP!

So, like I said... Layindo, big, strong, smart, with a very pure heart. Even before he met Meriador, the Immortal Paladin, he had decided he wanted to see the world and learn to use weapons while involving in sacred quests such as rescuing girls from towers (you wouldn’t believe how many girls used to scream for help when they knew Layindo was around), or rushing a Dragon, riding on his war dodo.

As he came across Meriador, he was somewhat cooked (some Dragons just didn’t have it his way) and covered with lipstick (grateful girls...). Meriador never succeeded in teaching him to think before rushing. He kept on running into the dungeons and the dragons. But he learned to make perfect use of his shield in order to protect him from their burning breath. He also used his bow to shoot from a distance, and both his swords in melee combat. He could run so fast that, so people say, his footprint can be seen on a rock, in a place called Layindo Dal, "Layindo’s foot". At least, that’s what tourist brochures say.

He put an end to his career in a tower that was bigger than the other ones, where a nicer, smarter and more seducing girl managed to stop him from running any further (the truth is, she had hidden his armored shoes, and everybody has been looking for them ever since).

His weapons and Armour are supposed to be in this place and in other places as well. It is also said that only high lineage paladins are supposed to be able to use them. Many hunters from both alignments have tried to find and wear them, but his "War Tools" are not for the layman! And if you are Dark, you’d better not try!
