The Archer:
The master of distanced fighting who, just like the warrior, has no affinity with magic and has to rely upon his/her physical strength and abilities. Archers can inflict significant damage at a distance and are more resistant than Mages. Archers are able to give a good performance in melee fighting and don’t blush when facing other archetypes. Archers count upon dodging, escaping and upon his/her armor to survive. But, of course, an Archer is not as resistant as a fighter and will take more damage when hit if he/she can’t avoid the damage.
The first path makes Archers extremely proficient at using ranged weapons. Archers can learn many techniques and use several kinds of arrows to hold back, stun, attract, or poison his/her enemy. An Archer can sometimes shoot from a very long range and when needed, he/she is able to launch a rain of arrows at a specific area. Several charges can be put on arrows to poison, explode or simply skewer the most solid armors. Archers can also conceal themselves to reach their targets more easily.
The second path is based on survival with a few strikes to get away from hand-to-hand fights, by slowing down an enemy, stunning them, or pushing them back. Archers can sometimes use their bow in melee, feint, sharpen their arrows, or even use a shield to hit enemies.
An expect archer will of course be able to get better with ranged weapons, as well as to optimize his/her chain mail armor. He/she can also further develop dodging and endurance abilities. Finally, he/she can take advantage of his/her well-trained eyes to locate traps more easily.
The archer is therefore an offensive class and can deal regular damage for a group, without taking as much damage as a Mage. Archers can sometimes stand up to an enemy and they are an excellent long-range attacker. The archer relies on keenness and discretion to achieve his/her goals and he/she is an obvious choice for those who like ranged combat.
