The Monk:
A Monk is a healer, but is also a combatant and will share many affinities with that class type. To cope with the problem caused by the monk having two roles, without being confined to only one of them, the monk’s healing powers will occur indirectly and will be triggered during combat. Thus, he/she will be able to fight while keeping his/her group alive, taking fully advantage from both of his/her main paths. The Monk will be able to deal heavy damage at the expense of his/her defense and will remain a secondary healer. Despite being able to assure the survival of his/her group in any normal situation, Monks will have fewer options than their fellow healers within this archetype.
The Monk’s first path is dedicated to close combat, namely hand to hand combat and battle staff combat. Monks will strike quickly and accurately, and while focused on combat, a Monk will be able to overwhelm their target with a flurry of blows. Monks will also be able to retreat from a battle and repel his/her opponent. The Undead will also suffer from additional damage if they face a Monk.
The second path allows a Monk to cast several blessing on himself/herself, making him/her a tough opponent in one on one combat. He/She will be able to stand up to an opponent without a problem but will have more difficulty dealing with several adversaries at one time. Monks definitively will not be able to replace a proper fighter in a situation dealing with multiple opponents. Thanks to his/her firm faith, a monk will also be able to convert a humanoid to his/her cause. Monks will have several means at their disposal to heal their whole group while attacking, they will also be able to increase the attack speed of their allies, and bring a dead ally back to life.
The expert abilities of a monk allow him/her to be better in combat and increase their mastery of magic. Thus, he/she will be able to develop his/her knowledge of melee combat, to optimize his/her use of leather armor, to improve his/her stamina and his/her ability to recover, without neglecting the frequency and speed of his/her castings.
The Monk is a hybrid class, designed for those who would like to be useful to their group by being able to heal them and to fight alongside them in close combat. The Monk is a tough duelist and may have to remain especially vigilant to deal with his/her enemy effectively, while not attracting too much attention towards himself/herself. Monks will be good healers within a group that is dedicated to melee combat but will not be as useful to Mages.
