Three progressions axes
The balancing tests performed on Dark and Light led us to refine the player’s progression rules. Thus, evolution will follow three axis in DnL :
- Combat Axis on 100 levels
- Craft Axis on 100 levels
- Social Axis on 100 levels
This decision was taken in order to give a full dimension to the social axis and to avoid any further confusion between social and craft.
Thus, the player will begin his/her life in Dark and Light, progressing according to his/her craft and combat abilities (see details below).
The player will be able to progress on the social axis as soon as he/she initiates a collective action within DnL such as: joining a guild and getting involved with its matters, doing several quests, defending or managing a fort or an exploitation, etc.
While putting some effort into Ganareth’s collective life, the player will become a Craftsman if he/she favors his/her crafting abilities, or a conqueror if he/she favors his/her combat abilities.
The three axes of progression will be available at the very beginning of your Dark and Light adventure and explained by masters present in the initiation ring of your birthplace.
Dark and Light intends to provide a genuine social game where involvement within the community (guild, holdings brotherhood, fort community) is quantified and rewarded with SXP, giving access to fortresses and holdings - which both match fighting and crafting, this time linked to gameplay within a group.
