This is the introduction of Kel`en. We are a light-aligned mercenary clan. Think that's a bit odd? Even the light needs capable mercenaries to do their dirty work, and we are not afraid to get our hands bloody for the cause of the light. We have a firm set of ethics and morals, however, that we will follow and defend to the death.

Kel`en was created by my gaming friends and I. We are veterans of many other MMORPGs, including but not limited to: EverQuest, Dark Ages of Camelot, Star Wars: Galaxies, and Lineage 2. Kel`en is inspired by the Faded Sun trilogy written by C.J. Cherryh, and broadened by influences of Japanese culture.

Pre-play our recruitment is fairly open. This means you will not have to actively play with or against any of our members to join. However, you will have to apply and make yourself well known to our members before acceptance will be considered. We will not sacrifice player skill for greater numbers.

just want to stop by and say 'Hi'. Maybe you have noticed my avatars name which should mean something to all C.H. Cerryh fans. When i saw some sigs of your guild members with Kel`en i got curious and wanted to check it out. Glad to have found some who are also fans of that great writer. I hope you can establish your guild according to the idea of a mercenary guild around that Mri theme. Unfortunateley i am already involved in another DnL guild otherwise i would have applied for membership although it might have been a little difficult because english is not my mother tongue. Anyways good luck with your guild and maybe we'll meet somewhen in DnL hopefully on the same side of the battlefield ...

Hey Shon'jir,

I can assure you that we are indeed following the mercenary theme. We were actually heading towards calling ourselves faded sun at the beginning and REALLY following the work as closely as possible, but opted for a "based on" approach that allows for a bit more flexability that is needed to adapt it to an MMO. Interestingly enough Phainein actually e-mailed a little bit with C.H. Cerryh about the guild to make sure there were no issues with it or anything.

It's a shame you are wrapped up elsewhere - I am sure Phainein would have loved to have another fan along - most of the rest of us haven't read the works (though I absolutely intend to now.) - but we are quickly learning about a very interesting world.

Thanks for your comment, what guild are you working with by the way? I may have to snoop around your site too *chuckles*

We are certainly strong in our commitment to the light, Darksoul, but I do appreciate your words. Indeed we could say the same for you had you not chosen the ways of chaos and corruption.

As far as oppertunities to work togeather, not only would it be possible but to be encouraged. While we are bound by honor we are quite dedicated to hiring out our services for the right price. Perhaps not a low price, but a fair one. We are sharp sword to part the dark for you, that "you" need not be light ;)
