Welcome back Thalinor,
It is good to see you around here again after all this time.
In the 10 months you have been gone a lot has changed around here. Most of the change was for the better such as higher dev activity, the addition of Alchemic Dream as community representatives, and that Gary Gygax is now working for Alchemic Dream. But some changes were for the worse such as the attitude of some of the members of the community. The new one this site is also becoming more frequent but is still not as often as some people would hope for. Also, if I may ask you one question. What made you change your mind and come back to this game and community?

The Inconnu site currently says it is a dark exploration guild, but it has been a long time since it has been updated and Thalinor?s sig there says it is light. Also, it has been too long for me to correctly remember what alignment it actually is. But I think I remember The Inconnu being a light guild at the time that Thalinor left all those months

<Edit> I did a little more searching and The Inconnu switched to the dark side on 11-08-2003. http://dnl.net/forums/showthread.php?t=5757

Yes, the guild is a dark exploration guild. While we will be involved in politics, guild alliances, as well as many other aspects of Ganareth... our main focus is exploring the lands and scouting. The second coming of the guild is going to be slow but steady. The current rebuilding of the guild hall (ooc: website) is going well. Expect over the next week to see many changes! I will keep everyone posted as things come together. Lastly, I am putting a call out to all old guild members was well as old guild alliances. Please contact me at your early convince to touch basis.

May the dark always cover your path and protect you!

OOC: I am working on making the website more user friendly. I have had many compliments about the old site and plan on using the same format, but am looking to automate a lot of the guild functions. Over the past year i have become quite good at php & CSS which will be incorporated in the site. Originally i piggybacked the "style" of the site off of DAOC's Catacombs site, which while it worked caused much headache. First, if they ever took the catacombs site down i would loose all the formatting on my site and second my work blocks websites with "games" as the html category tag. The latter caused it difficult to access the site from work and do updates. I have created a new CSS that is local on my webserver and will eliminate both problems listed above. I also plan on adding an update script that will allow news to be posted easily, which was something that was a major problem with the old site (i had to edit the HTML manually every time i wanted to do an update!) Again, look for a lot of changes over the next week as i hope to have the site completely revamped by next Sunday (Dec 26th)

I apologize for the delay in responding and the slowness for the site revamp. Because of end of year work stuff, i have been working 12 hour days and when I get home, falling asleep on the couch in front of a fire is the only thing on my mind.

As for the returning to the game bit? There are many reasons... but lets just say “it was time”. Any differences I had in the past with the game developers have past and I feel it is now a good time to rejoin the community. As was stated above in a post, “much has changed” and I am thrilled to see this change. The community seems stronger then ever and I am excited to rebuild relationships with old friends and make new alliances. Already, I have been in contact with an old friend, Necros, from the guild Necromantics and will be working in the future to further guild alliances. I have keep email correspondence wish several old inconnu guild members and plan on a quick rebuild/growth of active participants. As with before, the guild is still “elitist” in the fact that we are not a “run by invite” guild and pick and choose new members carefully. As with guilds I have run in the past, my guild is a “family”... most of the people who join play online a good portion of their free time, so I try and keep members limited to people who work well in groups and who like to be active in both the game & community. The belief that guild members must be mature both in game and out of game is still a core value of the guild as I firmly stand buy any member of the guild at any time is the voice and representation of the guild and therefore must display the core values of the whole. Personally, in the past year I have grown much (I will be 26 in march) and have even started to “settle down” a bit (ya, the bar hopping days might just be over). The latter comment was not meant to imply that the guild wont be as fun & relaxed as it once was; in fact it will likely be more relaxed as I have become very laid back myself, just that I am looking for members that are a little bit older and a little more settled.

Again, over the next week a lot of changes. I would advise people to check back at www.inconnu.us sometime after December 26th.

Happy Holidays Everyone,
Be Safe,
