SoF History
Before the breakdown of the moon, thousands of years ago, there were 4 elfs who were best mates. Together they were the most powerful magicians on the planet. They were so poweful that the people called them the Wizards of Fortune. They used the power of the moon to defeat their enemies, to heal wounded and to serve their elven lord through everything! This was a very honorable job, and not only their work was great, they all had beautifull wives and children too!
Altough everyone lived in peace there always were demons and bandits who tried to rob harmless people. It was the job of the 4 wizards to hunt these demons down and punish these thugs. They always succeeded in their job, and were never defeated. They were the biggest fear of all that was bad.
Then, a powerful demon wizard came, and he challenged the 4 wizards. After a long battle, the 4 wizards defeated the demon wizard, left his half dead corpse out in the open, and went to their homes to rest after the horrible battle. But just before the demon would die, he opened his eyes, and all he saw was the moon, the shining light in the dark night. He hated the moon so much, that he used his last strength to curse the moon. And when his last words came out of his mouth, the moon turned red, and slowly but steadily broke into 2 pieces.
The next day, when the wizards woke up, the whole world was changed. The old magic was lost, and all the people were changing in either dark or light beings. The 4 friends changed too, and 2 became Dark, and 2 became Light. They tried to stay together, but the more they were together, the more negative magical energy came between them. A year after the breakdown of the moon, the 4 wizards split up into a Dark and Light group, but they promised each other tokeep on searching for a cure to heal the moon.
The 2 Light wizards, who together were still very powerful, joined a larger Light group. The leader of this group was jealous at the elven wizards, because of the strength and goodness they still had. After a while the leader was so jealous that, deep in the night, he ordered his most loyal men to kill the 2 wizards and their wives and children. The men did their job, and in that night, 2 of the best wizards, and elves, were murdered.
When the 2 Dark wizards, who stayed unafiliated, heared about this, they were furious!!! They went to the light group, and killed everyone, men, women, children. When their spirits cooled down and the elves saw the horrible thing they did, they fell down on the ground, and cried. Their wives and children left them, and for a long time the 2 dark elven wizards just sat at the place their 2 friends were murdered. But then, they got an epifany. In stead of whining, they would take action. They agreed that the only way to get things back as it used to be, is to undo the curse from the demon wizard they defeated years ago. To be able to do this, they would have to get enough magic. And the only way to get this much dark magic is to kill all light magic.
The 2 wizards began a guild with people who, like them, were able to fight the Light in an honourable way. This guild grew and soon became the biggest of all guilds. This is the beginning of the Soldiers of Fortune, with the ultimate goal: to fight the light and so get the moons back together.
