The Order of Blue Light is, as was probably inferred from the title, a Light military organisation. The Order of Blue Light primarily acts as a mercenary company.

The Order of Blue Light (can be known as the TOBL for short) sets itself apart from other mercenary companies through its ideals. Although with no actual fealties, other than to the gods and especially to Aesir, TOBL acts in a composed and dignified manner. In the name of Aesir, all jobs taken are completed fully and the orders given are carried out to the letter. While currently having no political goals, the structure of TOBL allows for the Order to change as the members decide it to, as long as it remains true to the original by-laws (as of now in writing, but basically stress dedication to upholding Loyality and Chivalric conduct, and the postions within the EC).

The leadership of The Order of Blue Light does not rest in one man, but in an Elected Council (EC for short). This Elected Council consists of The General, Two Commanders, The Warden, The Chaplain, The Governor, and The Voice of Duty.

The Voice of Duty is responsible for maintaining the Order and making sure it lives up to its standards. If anything at all goes wrong, it is the Voices fault. He is seen as having the moral authority to lead and is the official head of the order.

The General is the head of military strategy. All battle plans and tactics are his responsibility, even if they have not all come directly from him. It is his duty to insure that the battles are won.

The Commanders are directly responsible for the men. They are obliged to move their men in accordance with the General's tactics, but individual troop placement, as well as creating and bestowing rank on the other men, is up to the Commander. Each Commander is given control of one half of the entire Order's manpower.

The Chaplain sees to it that all men are versed in the lore of the land, especially that of Aesyr. All the men would not be loyal and diciplined if they did not know of why they should be.

The Warden is responsible for keeping everyone well-diciplined. He diciplines those who are out of line after they have broken regulations, and also helps the Commanders in planning the training regiments and troop organization.

The Governor is a political speaker for the Order. Though the Order has no political ideals as of yet, it will most certainly work for some organizations which do. The Governor is responsible for maintaining smooth relationships with other organizations and finding jobs.

Each member of the EC gets to vote on the important decisions facing the Order, except for the Voice. The Voice of Duty may only vote in the event of a tie.

I want this guild to be very focused around the group, especially those that help to create it. I will be working on a website soon, so as to better display information. Please, if you want to join, or have any input/comments/flames/ideas/anything, post and let me know. Any of this is up to change depending on what we want, we being me and anybody who is interested in helping to shape a unique and interesting order for this unique and interesting game.

And the guild is roleplaying centric. Not strictly enforced, but highly encouraged and respected.

Thank you. We are open to recruitment, and we need alot of people. I want to find out if people are interested before I go ahead and actually create the guild here. So post if you want to join and help shape this order.

Hey don't rush it mate - you have a well thought out structure there, you're going to need to go and track the people down to work with though. Trust me - guilds don't form themselves - I know heheh - I've put a deal of work into rounding up kel'en, it's always tough to get it rolling. But if you really want to do it and think you have the skills and experience to run a guild then go for it - it can be extremely rewarding. Just make sure you stick to your guns, and realize it'll be rough to start.

As far as blue light? I'm a Stella guy myself ;)

Cheers!

We will try to hold a chat about the guild in #blueorder at some point tommorow night. If anyone is interested, just try joining the channel after 8 p.m. est

Also, just about everything in this guild is up to change. If you don't like the structure, name, anything, come to the chat and we can think it out. I really just wanted to try and give us a starting place, and go from there.

Hmmmm, very interesting... and I like the role-playing aspect...

I would be very interested in the Chaplain position as it would fit my chracter best, but I was thinking of being dark with my main...

I'm not going to rule out the light though, because I'm stuck between enchanter and illusionist, and once more class info comes out I'll be able to decide. I'm a newbie to the game so I don't know much yet but if you give me time, and if we hit it off ;)

I'm a big RP buff, and I feel that in order to be and effective role-player, you have to be well versed in the lore of the game, so I will, in time, be very knowledgeable...

But we shall save those talks until later. The most important thing about a guild is that the members get along very well, so I shall wait to see, as I'm sure you don't want to make important descisions so early on

A few topics have been brought to attention during the chat tonight, and I feel it is necesarry to post them here so that everyone can see what is going on, and express their input. I wan and need your input, even if your just passing through the thread and are not really interested in the Guild.

1) Leadership Definement

The Leadership postions need to be redifined or expounded upon. It is important that each position's duties are painfully apparent and not debated upon. So to prevent future debate, we need to debate now upon what the actualy positions do, which ones are actually necesarry, what they should be called, so forth. Let me know what you think.

2) Leadership Appointment or Election?

Pretty much all there is to this issue. Should our Officials be Elected or Appointed? Should some be elected, others appointed. Let me know what you think!

3) Back-story

This one will take alot of work, because I want a very detailed story behind our little group. What was our history? Did we work for a King, or did we just get together for a cause? We don't even have to be a mercenary band if we don't want, I just through that out there initially. All input is welcome.

4) Name

Do we want to be The Order of the Blue Light? Im open to all suggestions.

So, pretty much, just say what you think should be changed. We have alot of work ahead of us, and alot of recruitment, but our group right now seems dedicated enough to get this done.
