The Order of Blue Light is, as was probably inferred from the title, a Light military organisation. The Order of Blue Light primarily acts as a mercenary company.
The Order of Blue Light (can be known as the TOBL for short) sets itself apart from other mercenary companies through its ideals. Although with no actual fealties, other than to the gods and especially to Aesir, TOBL acts in a composed and dignified manner. In the name of Aesir, all jobs taken are completed fully and the orders given are carried out to the letter. While currently having no political goals, the structure of TOBL allows for the Order to change as the members decide it to, as long as it remains true to the original by-laws (as of now in writing, but basically stress dedication to upholding Loyality and Chivalric conduct, and the postions within the EC).
The leadership of The Order of Blue Light does not rest in one man, but in an Elected Council (EC for short). This Elected Council consists of The General, Two Commanders, The Warden, The Chaplain, The Governor, and The Voice of Duty.
The Voice of Duty is responsible for maintaining the Order and making sure it lives up to its standards. If anything at all goes wrong, it is the Voices fault. He is seen as having the moral authority to lead and is the official head of the order.
The General is the head of military strategy. All battle plans and tactics are his responsibility, even if they have not all come directly from him. It is his duty to insure that the battles are won.
The Commanders are directly responsible for the men. They are obliged to move their men in accordance with the General's tactics, but individual troop placement, as well as creating and bestowing rank on the other men, is up to the Commander. Each Commander is given control of one half of the entire Order's manpower.
The Chaplain sees to it that all men are versed in the lore of the land, especially that of Aesyr. All the men would not be loyal and diciplined if they did not know of why they should be.
The Warden is responsible for keeping everyone well-diciplined. He diciplines those who are out of line after they have broken regulations, and also helps the Commanders in planning the training regiments and troop organization.
The Governor is a political speaker for the Order. Though the Order has no political ideals as of yet, it will most certainly work for some organizations which do. The Governor is responsible for maintaining smooth relationships with other organizations and finding jobs.
Each member of the EC gets to vote on the important decisions facing the Order, except for the Voice. The Voice of Duty may only vote in the event of a tie.
I want this guild to be very focused around the group, especially those that help to create it. I will be working on a website soon, so as to better display information. Please, if you want to join, or have any input/comments/flames/ideas/anything, post and let me know. Any of this is up to change depending on what we want, we being me and anybody who is interested in helping to shape a unique and interesting order for this unique and interesting game.
And the guild is roleplaying centric. Not strictly enforced, but highly encouraged and respected.
