It was a clear nightsky Seton was looking at. He could clearly see the two moons on either side of the horizon. Which moon atracted him the most? He knew not, for if he walked toward the one moon the other seemed to call harder on him and when he doubled back to the other moon the first seemed more appealing. He would sleep now for he was tired from his day of turmoil.
When Seton woke up the next day the turmoil was gone, for the two moons were out of sight for the day. but he knew that tonight would be no different then the hundred nights before. He walked toward a small village he saw in the distance. While walking over the dry desert sand he suddenly felt like he was being watch from the treeline far to his east. How could anyone have seen him from so far away? It must have been an illusion Seton thought to himself. When he looked at the village again he saw a big black column of smoke rising from the middle of the village.
Seton ran to the village and he saw that Orcs where raiding the village. They massacred the inhabitants and destroyed every house there was. What should Seton do? He took his bow and aimed it at the Orc who seemed to be in charge. The arrow hit the Orc in the head, first piercing the metal helmet the orc was wearing. The leader instantly fell to the ground, laying there lifeless beside his latest victim. The other Orcs looked to see where the arrow came from but cuold not find it's origin. They then looked at eachother in amazement and finally started to retreat from the village.
Seton walked through the village looking at the corpses of women and children. There had been a great misdoing by the Orcs, he would hunt them all down and kill them one by one. Revenge for all the deaths of the innocent, he knew what he had to do....
SO, what do you guys an gals think so far?

thanx WhiteBlade, so on your request:
After he decided to take revenge on the Orcs he first had to get ready for combat. So Seton would train for a day before he would go after the brutal Orcs. He first had to patch up his worn-out cloak so it would be easier to stay hidden. For if he was seen by one of the Orcs he would surely perish. Though he knew that if this would happen he would take a lot of them with him, he wanted to get them all for what they had done.
After patching up his cloak he meditated to get the focus he had once learned from his former tutor. Illumine was the best tutor he ever had, but even Illumine had nothing left to teach to Seton. Seton wished to stay with Illumine all those years ago, but his tutor wanted him to travel and learn more of the world. Seton laughed, he learned more than he wanted to today. Sometimes it's better to live in ignorance, he thought.
He meditated for half an hour and then calmly stood up. His mind was focussed now and he set up in th ground a halfburned plank which was the only thing left of the house that once stood there. He walked away from the plank until he was about a 150 feet away from the plank and readied his bow. He shot the arrow and it went straight to the target. But at the last moment it suddenly and mysteriously seemed to bounce of some sort of shield. Seton was confused, what just happened? He walked to the point where the arrow bounced and he saw and felt nothing strange. There was an odd smell though, a smell which seemed familiar. He knew he smelled it before, but couldn't remember when or where. He would leave it for now, he had no time for this. There were Orcs he needed to hunt down.
Seton followed the tracks of the Orcish horde, they led him into the forest. He knew they had built up quite a distance by now and quickly went after them, not noticing that he was being followed by a pack of wolves. They came out of the bushes and started to growl at Seton. There were seven of them and Seton was surprised that they could have gotten so close without him noticing them with his keen senses.
The first wolf jumped at him just as he unsheathed his first sword with his right hand. Seton let himself fall back so the wolf fell on top of the sword he had readied. Another wolf took a bite at his head, but Seton had already rolled away and slashed the animals neck with his other sword which he had drawn while he feel on his back. Seton could see the blood spewing from the neck of the wolf as he stood up and readied for the attack of the next wolf. The five wolves left were more careful now, they seemed to understand they had underestimated their foe. Two of the wolves jumped at him from each of his sides. Seton backflipped and heard the loud thump of the two wolfheads clashing into eachother. Still three wolves should remain Seton thought as he landed on his feet again, but when he looked around there were none. How could they vanish like that? Seton didn't give it much thought, he had bigger fish to fry or better said bigger Orcs to fry.

Seton was getting closer to the Orcs, the tracks were fresh and also seemed more abundant. Had even more Orcs joined the horde? It seemed that way. This was not a good thing, Seton was expecting to have to kill about twenty Orcs. Now it seemed more like he had to kill fifty of them. He only had thirty-five arrows on his back, how would he kill the others? It was a concern for later, he first had to catch up with them.
Seton was tracking hard and was so focussed on the tracks he didn’t even notice it was getting dark. Until he came across a puddle in which he could see the Light moon. It instantly froze him. ‘Not again, not now!’ Seton angrily said to himself, but he couldn’t help himself from looking up in the sky and seeing the two moons again. They shined ever so bright, so bright he almost didn’t see the campfire in the distance. The campfire took his focus back on his current mission.
He just wanted to investigate the campfire when he saw a house on the other side of him. ‘Oh great’ Seton said ‘Another choice to make’ He knew that the night did not have enough time in it to see both of the interesting spots. Which should he go to first? A house in the middle of nowhere seemed very strange to him, but on the other hand, the campfire might be from the Orcs and he would have a better chance of getting them all in the dark night then the next day in the daylight.
(You guys and gals can choose which way Seton has to go, please let me know which way you prefer; House or campfire?)

i think that i can give no advice in this situation, it really is up to you to choose were to go. that way you can plan out the rest of your story how you want it. when im wrighting i have an ending in mind and i wrighti a story that ends there, that way you can do all those nifty things like foreshadowing and stuff.

I have an ending and plottwist too, but at this point I can still work them both into the story. I thought it would B nice 2 let the communitymebers decide which way Seton should go for now ;)
Well, got 2 write for the contest now, so I guess I'll let Seton go 2 the house ;)
The rest of my story is posponed a bit :( Don't have a lot of time right now

my advice for wrighting is; get either slightly drunk, realy buzzed on caffine, or wright really late at night when you swear the lepricauns are following you.
thats my advice on creativity.

Seton decided he would go to the house. “The campfire can be from anyone” he said to himself. Seton walked to the house when suddenly a whole new floor showed above the two he had previously seen. What powerful magic this was to cover a whole floor of a building in shrouds of invisibility. The power of the magic frightened him, but not in a bad way. He knew this was the right power, the power he would join too. Maybe he too could be that powerful some day.
Seton walked further still astonished at this powerful magic, when another floor appeared on top of the building. The building had now four floors which he could see, how many were still hidden from his sight? As he walked for another 10 minutes through the thick undergrowth he saw floor after floor emerging before him. He was almost at the building and he could see the magnificent glory of it. It was made of beautiful white marble with great statues standing at every corner of every floor. The statues were soldiers of every race and class and they radiated power and discipline.
When Seton was almost at the door he smelled that familiar smell again, “Who is there?” he asked into the dark nothingness of the night. A bright flash made him squint his eyes for a moment, seeing his former tutor appear before him. “Master Illumine?” Seton asked, looking at his former tutor which didn’t seem too happy with him. “Yes, it is I Seton. I have been following you for quite sometime now” The old man said in an angry voice. “You were the reason for all the strange things happening to me weren’t you?” Seton asked as he walked over to Illumine. “Yes, I watched you in the desert, masked the wolves so you wouldn’t sense them until it was too late and I also made the last three wolves vanish”. “But why?” Seton could not understand why Illumine would do such things. “Do you also remember the deflecting arrow Seton?” Illumine asked already knowing the answer. Seton looked confused as he was searching his memory, suddenly finding what Illumine spoke about “Yes, it was you I smelled there. But this still doesn’t answer my question as to why you would do these things”. “Seton, you are as impatient as ever. I should have known you would not understand it, even I do not understand it completely” The old man said to himself then turning to Seton he said; “I knew this path would draw you closer and closer and I tried to stop it from happening, I should have known it would be in vain”.
“What path do you speak of?” While Seton asked this question he already knew the answer he would get. “The path of the dark Seton. Oh, how I tried to keep you on the Light path. This will be my last chance to keep you with us Seton” Illumine pointed at the door of the building in front of them “If you go through that door, you will be a follower of the dark. Please do not go there Seton”. His former tutor’s pleads did not reach Seton, for the draw to the Dark was too big. “I am sorry Master, but you know I have no choice. If I do not try this I will not be true to myself” Seton said as he started to walk towards the door. Illumine jumped before him, “I cannot let you do this my son, I’m afraid that killing you is my only option”. Illumine vanished into thin air and a few seconds later, as Seton was still shocked by his masters words, a bolt of lightning came towards him. Seton jumped aside, but he was too late to completely dodge the bolt. He screamed as the bolt burnt the rightside of his leg, this was not a game as he had used to play with Illumine. He scrambled up again putting his weight on his left leg. Another bolt jolted right at him, but this one he was expecting and he twisted his upper body sideways and back so the bolt missed him by a few centimeters. Seton could not see his attacker, but he could smell him. He took an arrow and readied his bow. “I am sorry master” Seton said as he let the arrow fly. The arrow struck Illumine in the chest “How is this possible?” he looked astonished at Seton, “The arrow should have bounced of my shield”. Seton limped over to Illumine taking him into his arms, “Your shield is to protect you from men who want to do you harm, I didn’t want this master. I did not wish to harm you, but you left me no choice. I am sorry”. As Seton said sorry Illumine had died in his arms. “The price we must pay to find our right path….” Seton shook his head and laid down Illumine.
Seton walked to the door thinking of what he had been through. The Orcs didn’t really matter anymore at this moment, he would get them later. For now this would be a place where he would feel at home, a place where he would just be. No difficult choices he would have to make alone anymore. He read the sign on the door: “SoF”, he hoped he would be admitted into their midst as he knocked on the door. He would go through thick and thin for his fellow members, helping where he could. The door opened and……

The door opened and…… He could he a popping sound . . he activated one of shazi's traps to keep strangers out :p

Seton had not expected such a trap. He tried to jump aside, but the maker of the trap was no rookie. Eventhough Seton had quick reflexes he was captured by the metal cage that came down on him. Now he would be at the total mercy of the members of SoF. He waited patiently, hoping for a good outcome....

Ok, trap explanaison:
Shazi's traps have two different functions, they are either built to kill directly (mostly used on battlefields and on hunts.)
However, some of my traps are built to keep the prey alive for later use or for some fun torture when im bored :P
So it is very possible that he fell into one of the keep-til-later traps and thereforth he survived.
PS: If i'd check my trap and would find a light elf then he better have a good argument why i shouldn't kill him ;)

Seton was hurt, and felt dazed, he strugled to remember.... he realised and reached out fealing his prison.... he remembered the door and the trap... then nothing. Seton regained his composure, a small light began glowing from the centre of the room. Shapes started to become visible, he could now see outlines but fealt that whatever it was did not want to be clearly seen. Eventually he could make out a group of diffrent creatures who approached him from the shadows, mostly dark elves, but others also. He struggled and tried to free himself from his new prison, but his efforts were in vain, as some form of magic repelled all his attempts. He accepted defeat and looked up awaiting his fait. The group was all around him now, surrounding him, enclosing him in a wide circle.
He tried to examine his captors, and was somehow drawn to two in particular, although he could not make out their shape or form. The 2 watched him, for what seemed like an age, and he could feel their very presence pressing on him, Invading his head, forcing him to reveal who he was and what he was doing. Then he heard.... or sensed something inside his very being.
It was a voice, someone was speaking to him....

He listened to the voice, as it began to speak to him....
"Seton, we have heard you're thoughts, and know you're mind. We saw you're comming and have been awaiting you're arrival. You came here for a reason, you were drawn to us and the obsticles put in you're path did not stop you from reaching us."
The voice in his head was growing stronger all the time, until he realised that he was hearing it not only in his head, but the stranger was now speaking it allowed in the room for all to hear.
"Seton you wish to join our ranks, and on you're journy you have proven you're self worthy. We must gain you're trust, and you must gain ours, but we have a common goal and we accept you into the fold.
I am Bluenose, this is Delta, and we are the Soldiers of Fortune."
With that the speaker threw back his robes and the light shone with a dark glow that spread both fear and excitement though his being at the same time. He saw the two men for the first time, they were dark elves and he could feel their power.
"We are a powerful Dark Guild, sworn to gain power by destroying all Light, and bring the 2 moons back together. Our members are from all dark and neutral races, and all backgrounds, you will come to know them as you're family. But for the moment rest is needed."
Seton felt his head become heavy and before he know it he felt himself drop into a deep dreamless sleep. As he closed his eyes his last view was of the trap disappearing from around him, and the light once again fading to darkness.....
