Story Contest has been approved!

well i was just talking to eg0 and the news is that there will be a contest, and even a place were we can upload our work, othe than a forum! So everyone to your stations, wright the greatest tales that you can pull out of the swirling nurons in your heads. LET THE CONEST BEGIN!!!!

i want to do a role call on who here would participate in a wrighting contest, i have no idea if we can get the admins to accept it but i think it would be a great chance for some of us to showcase some talent, ther ewould have to be atleast 3 sections in my opinion,

1. stories

2. poetry

3. lyrical

we could add/remove sections to compeat under. i think that a decent deadline would have to be 2 weeks into beta, that way everyone could have a finished product to compeat with. To judge them i htinkhtat there would have to be certain feilds in which you could recieve a score.

1. origionality

2. creativity

3. flow (how well it goes from one topic to another)

4. charactor developement

5. grammer/spelling

6. description

7. addictivity (how well it sucks you in, making you want to sell your soul just to see the next page)

8. length (open to debate, i just want 10 fields)

9. overall

10. moral (inner meaning to the story)

i look forward to seeing your thoughts on the subject, and no im not just doing this because i have a decent story, i think its a great way for the devs to contract out a better storyline than their moon blew up, and some other stuff happened. i htink that they should have a fairly engageing story to pull in those who are not sold on the game by the strikeing beauty of it. ill try my best to win over eg0 but all help is appreciated.

I think it sounds like a great idea.
I think some ppl would put some more efford to their storys and maybe get some more people to write more =)

well as for length mine is currently at chapter 10, or roughly 10000 words. lenght is not a factor. wel happy wrighting to everyone and i hope that everyone puts a lot of effort into makeing theis happen~!~

well an intereesting thing about it is that we mayby, just maybe see something from a certain mod. the prizes are yet ot be confrmed but what eg0's hinting at soudns really sweet! and thats all im goign to say, man your pens and create the greatest litterary work this game has ever seen

WHAT! A PRIZE!?! I was gona write it just to have my story read by you all and a chance of comming in first but with a prize it make it much more competative and I guess I better get to work ASAP. You better keep on your toes, though because i have one heck of a story! its goign to be at atleast 15 chapter by the end of the week, and by the time beta comes out it will be at 30 chapters atleast!

Yeah well my story will be atleast 1000 words and seeing as your is already 10000 I may have to compomise and maybe write 1000% more than I had planned just to compete with you, who knows maybe Ill hand it in to my english teacher for some extra credits?

Well well thats a great idea and i am currently typing chapter 4 and 5 of my story so i gues i could enter competition eventhough the story is the first i ve ever written . All i write in school is dumb essays ...

By the way Tale of a lonesome adventurer (my story ) has 2 purposes :
- count the adventure of Astaldaer a high elf pure heart
- explains my characters background and how he fell into darkness :p

hm, a writing competition sounds great, love writing ;) xept i'm gonna b bz with assignments, etc for the next 3-5 weekz so yeah... probably won't b able to write a story in time for the deadline :( no competition... or maybe i'll just continue the added bit after skartag's story :P if he doesn't mind...

oh quick question can the stories be about anything or do they have to be about elves and stuff like that? because i've written stories of both modern and fantasy.

good question, lets try and keep them in theme with dnl, you can make use of some poetic liscence but try and keep it as close as you can to the dnl theme.

Nice Idea,

SoF seem to have jumped on the RPG story idea as I think we currently have around 10 different stories from members on our forum. Im sure all who have created one would take part in this competition, I will also be either re-writing the SoF story to give it more atmosphere, and greater character depth, (the basic story will stay the same) or I will write a story for Bluenose which will link into it, and the many other stories Im featured in. Perhaps I will do both…. I haven’t decided yet. Im not sure how good anything I come up with will be, but I’ve enjoyed reading everyone else’s efforts so I’ll give it a go :D

I've desided not to take part in this contest, because it wouldn't be fair. Actually there has been little misunderstood between me and IronMonk and I think it's because the lack of my language skills. I have written some of my own character history but as I announced I'm not gonna take part on contest as a writer. However I have thought of being one of the judges.
