I am thinking of a good story when the time comes to get a good weapon.
I am not sure how it is going to go down but every great weapon requires a good story behind it.
I definately want to be required to travel or complete some quest (maybe the game might even have a good one).
One for a sword I kind of liked and a good way to start off a journey in game might be straight from the Sword of Truth novels.
It would be extremely cool if this game included some story telling things like books. Maybe a system like Morrowind (with the advanced writing mod) so a person could write a book and tell a story that way or build there own quests.

I had some ideas for quests here (http://www.darkandlight.net/forums/showthread.php?t=13833) and Mensereg posted his here (http://www.darkandlight.net/forums/showthread.php?t=13969). But I'd be keen to hear others...

I'm personally going to be on a quest to remake an item of legend that may or may not have existed in the first place, a crown that my character was told was shattered during the dragon war (by his grandfather, storyteller of his villiage). When I get the time, I'll actually write this up as an RP story.

* The story line I'm most interested in finding a way to play will have to wait until the Devs release the water expansion (and maybe even a new continent). I want to find out where I come from, who my people and family are, ect.
- For more? I've wrote a story (EMERGENCE) to give ya some idea on what I'm talking about.
- Some interesting ideas in this thread... glad its here.

To be honest I'm still unsure... I'm unfamiliar with Dark and Light, have read the different articles under Universe but truly wish there was much more. I'm new to the whole MMO aspect. I've done role playing on boards, but that is as far as it has gone.
Like I said I joined this site to better prepare myself for the game until its release, because its something I can do with my husband. Although I have a feeling he is going to be on the opposite faction *chuckles* so any pointers by anyone would be greatly appreciated.

Don't worry about it Caisha, the curve can be a bit steep at times, but the community is a pretty tolerant one, and as long as you keep in character in open chat, people are amiable to answering questions through tells. Thats more or less how I got started in my current game (City of Heroes).
As for stories I want to play? I'm looking forward to playing the formation of my guild, The Stars of Aesir. I've already got the idea for the evoltion of the guild from its roots and an adventuring troup to something more massive and military like. Once we get up there too, I plan on starting a worldwide quest for the guild to capture epic artifacts (not all, just certain ones). And it will hopefully drag many guilds both on our side and others, into the plot. After all, every great leader in fantasy has to have a great weapon :D

*chuckles* well yes every Great Hero 'does need' a kick butt weapon *winks* *cough* war fantasies *cough and grins* well I do hope to see many of you in game, especially considering how nice many of you have been...
I'm not sure which way I'm going to go with Caisha... She is a half breed bastard child... Her father was noble, I plan to work around that. Hopefully it does bring interesting plots but not only that, maybe with that kind of premise I can join some of your awesome quests/plot ideas.

Assuming you're the light side of the force *cough* i mean Mana, then you'll have to look us up. My character, Dayn, is one of three sons of a murdered Brave noble :P which, of course, pairs up perfectly with a bastard halfbreed son of a noble :D
As for interesting plots, in my limited experience, as long as you tell a good story, and make it fun, the interesting part becomes icing. As long as you're consistent in your character, are have fun with other people, you're RPs will always be popular. Oh, and having a character quirk also helps to make a character memorable.

Hmm, tales I want to be part of...
Finding the decendants of Al-Drifa, Heirs to the Over Throne. Infiltrating a lost cult or secret society, finding lost lore regarding the worshippers of Gothar. Discovering the secrets of the Tenth Kingdom and Mending the Moon (thats an end game if ever there was one!)
One of my secondary characters will be a scholar so anything needing research and so on.

*grins* Hmm not sure what side she will be on... she is more of out for herself than anyone, considering how everyone has treated her till this current point. But yes I do agree with you, things will be good, will be interesting as long as you play your character the right way. *chuckles* I really do hope to see you around when the time comes.
