"Get off of me you monster!" The elven girl strugled to free herself from Finigan's large arms, his plate male clanking around as she strugled, dropping her bow to the floor. Laughter insued, until she caught site of Trinitus, who looked on his face void of emotion, he merely gazed ahead.

"Hey Trin." She looked to Finigan who now stood next to her, toweringly. "What's his deal?" She asked, giving the large human a crooked glance.

"Urm." Finigan let out a noise, nothing more.

"What?" She replied urgently.

"The Warriors of the Hex." He spoke in almost a monotonic voice.

"Yeah we got them. Three of em' wasn't it?" She said happily, content with the opposition being defeated.

"There was a loss..." He spoke to her, but his eyes looked at the ground below him.

"A loss?" She paused for a moment. "Ah, yeah, the guard captain, what was his name? Oh, yeah. Captain Grangel." She said, "A good man, aye, but nothing to worry about...losses are to be expected in skirmished."

"No, there was a second...t'was the lady."

"The lady?" There was a long pause. "Oh..." Finally putting the pieces together. "I-I'm sorry Trinitus."

"No need. My eye's have no more tears to cry. My pain is within." He looked away to the horizon for a moment, then his eyes drifted back to the Wood-Elf in front of him, shadowed from the son by the large man next to her.

"Uh..." She wanted to say something, but her mind couldn't think of words, couldn't think of anything more then, the fact that one of her best friends was going through something horrid, and she had nothing to tell him but 'sorry'.

"Never the less." He broke the silence, trying to be as up beat as one in his current state possible could. "I have come to ask for your bow."

"My bow? You need to borrow it?" She asked confusedly.

"No, I need your expertise with it."

"What? Why?" She gave him an odd glance.

"We're going after them." Finigan answered for him.

"What? After the Hex? Are you mad? You'll be slaughtered. Even the smallest band of the Hex army is thrice times the size of this merry little band." She said, angery at the pure idiocy coming from her friend's mouth.

"I have been granted the rights to four more warriors and myself." He said, trying give encouragement. He new she was stubourn, but he also knew she was loyal. He was almost positive she would agree. The three of them had been friends since the age of four, when the young Wood-Elf was brought into the walls of the castle.

"Oh, forgive me, twice the size." She spurted a sarcastic response.

"You're forgiven." Finigan said, with a smirk.

"You don't have to go, I merely ask, tis fine. Come Finigan, we have to find three more willing warriors before sunset."

"Oh you little manipulative...!" She stopped not able to think of anything to describe him.

"Aye, he's good isn't he." Finigan said shaking his head, thinking back to his own awakening

"You're a fool to think I won't come." She said, letting out a deep sigh, before leaning down and picking up her fallen bow.

"Thank you Laena."

"Yeah, yeah." She said with a smile, patting him on he shoulder.

Making their way down the stairs, Trinitus realized he had no other members of the guard in mind for his party. After a few seconds of thought, by this time they were at the door of the barracks again, he turned to the other's.

"Who else?" He asked giving them both a questioning glance.

"I don't know." Finigan said, giving him a shrug, then looking to Laena.

"Hmm." She gave the murmur of thoughtfulness, placing her finger on her chin, as she gazed upward. "Let me see." She continued.

"Well, there's Yyren." She spoke cautiously, knowing the reaction that would follow from either of them. To her suprise, only Finigan spoke.

"Yyren? What are yeh thankin'?" He shook his head.

"She's right."

"What? Are yeh nuts, Trinitus? We'll end up killing ourselves before the Hex has a chance to. That guy and his mouth! He never stops-"

Trinitus cut him off, "I know, I know, trust me I know the capacity of his babble. But I also know there is no man better with the daggers then Yyren."

Finigan said nothing more, he knew it was true. He had never seen a finer display with the daggers then he had whitness when he saw Yyren work. But he couldn't help but give a large drawn out sigh, as he looked to the floor, shaking his head, at the thought of travelling with that man's non-stop babble. Most of which usually consisted of ego driven non-sensical stories about his endeavors.

"Where is he?" Trinitus' asked, his eyes moving from Finigan's sullen face, filled with dispair after realizing he would indeed be going with them, to Laena who patted the large man on the bicep.

Her eyes came back to Trinitus, "Normally in the kitchen this time a'day."

"The kitchen?" Trinitus gave her an odd look.

"The cooks are the only one's who haven't threatened to kill him if he didn't shut his mouth." She answered through a stiffled giggle.

"Ah." He said shaking his head. "Well, perhaps you can go retrieve him, while me and Finigan find the forth?"

"Send me to do the dirty work, ay?"

"Aye." He said looking to Finigan, who gave out a hearty laugh patting Laena mockingly on the shoulder.

"Very well!" She said punching Finigan in his arm, before storming off in the direction of the kitchen.

"Ow." The large man said rubbing his arm, the metal armor clanking together.

"Come on, you beast." Trinitus said, motioning him to enter the barracks, as he pushed the door open.

The two soon stood at the door, which closed behind them slowly, stairing at a room full of soilders, some talking idle, one man sharpend a spear in the corner, some layed on their bed, stairing at the ceiling. The general dribble that guards did in between shifts, during the day.

"What do you think?" Finigan said, standing behind him, yet still able to see the whole room over his head.

"No idea." He said, truely not knowing who was who. He knew names, faces, but he never really had a chance to see the skill level. His eyes went back and forth across the room, from face to face. Suddenly they caught a glimpse of a familiar face, more familiar then the others anyhow. "Him." He pointed to the guard who sat on the edge of a bed, looking at a piece of parchment, his sword laying sheathed beside him. "That's the guard that I told of the news, and to prepare the body. He was in the battle with the three intruder's of the Hex."

"Oh, aye?", the large man said, "Sure, why not."

"Let us intrigue him." He said patting the Finigan on the chest as he made his way to the man's bedside.

"You there." Trinitus said patting the guard on the shoulder.

"What is it, I told you I'm-" He stopped as his eyes saw who it was. "Oh, Sir Trinitus, many apologies, what is your bidding." He stopped for a moment, "Oh, no, did I do something?" The man's thoughts could only rehearse his actions the morning prior, did he make a mistake with the body preperations? He couldn't remember.

"Nay, lad." He stopped his thoughts. "What's your name guard?"

"Florrent, sir." He answered, nervously.

"Well, Florrent, I have a proposition for you." He said, putting a foot on the bed, and leaningh his arm onto his knee to get closer to the man. "You see, I am on a mission. You know those who attacked this morning? Yeah well, one got away, the one who left the lady slain in her bed."

"Oh? Aye." He said nothing more.

"Yes, well, we...me and Finigan here." He motioned to him, as he now stood behind him, looking menacingly down at the man. "Well, we invite you to join us on such a mission."

"Me and my men?"

"Nay, just you."

"The three of us? To the Hex encampment?"

"No." He stopped, letting the man get hopeful for a larger number, only to let him down. "There are two more."

The man gave a sigh, "I don't know sir."

"You would, if we should return, be promoted to Captain."

The loss of life, his or another's, or all of their's seemed almost inevitable by the sound of the situation, risking his life for a high rank was definitely not a fair trade. But the admiration he had for Trinitus was even more so then before, after hearing he would brave the odds to avenge the death of his love.

"Let me get my things." He said, simply.

"Very good, Florrent, very good indeed." He gave the man a pat on the shoulder. "Very good, aye Finigan?"

"Aye, good and what not." He said with a smirk.

The three made their way out of the barracks, moving to the middle of the courtyard where the three stood. One clad in plate mail, a large axe strapped to his back, the other in the uniform of a guard, his chain male dangling from him, his sword at his side, and his shield on his back, Trinitus stood, a sword on either side, his leather garbs on him almost form fittingly. Finigan and the guard chatted, Trinitus never saying a word, giving a nod of confirmation to some pointless question that Finigan asked him to confirm. The conversation was soon broken by the Elf, who had a tall lanky man, not as tall as Finigan, but taller then the other three, his daggers attached to his calf, two more at his hips, and two more around his chest. His black attire signalled rogue through and though, his dark hair hung over his face, hiding his eyes, which obviously peared out at Trinitus.

"Ah, the knight, Sir Trinitus. This quest we are to partake in reminds me of the time I-"

"Let us cut the dribble short this eve, Yyren." Trinitus cut the man's story off. "We haven't time to spare. The encampment is three days journey to the east. Now, if we are all ready, we will make our way to the storage chamber, and get the supplied we need, food, that will not spoil, breads, and the what not's. Any other supplies you might deem necessary, however the objective is to travel light." He got right to the point.

In less then a half hour, they stood, a pouch and a bag to each of them at the front gates, that creeked slowly open. The large doorway now clear for passage, stood before them.

"Shall we?" Yyren spoke, excitedly.

"Aye." Trinitus responded, leading the other four out of the doors, the creaking sound of them closing, signallying the point of no return. The time of changed minds was past them, and they were officially on the road to the inevitable conflict ahead.
