As we continue to learn more and more about this game it seems that it would be most advantageous for us as a guild to focus on a certian god. With information leading me to think that that gods will play key part in kingdom defence and so on. Also it seems there will be other added benifits. If we perhaps all focused on one god(dess) we would then be able to recieve help especially form that god instead of all of us choosing our own path.

I've been thinking about this and won't it limit us to certain classes?

I’m sure you guys know this but if a player groups with another member that is aligned with an opposing God, our god will loose respect for us because we are spending time that worships our Gods enemy. Now I can’t be certain but I have always thought the Gods are separated into three groups
Good
Neutral
Evil
Within each of these groups are subgroups
Good
--Chaotic good
--Lawful good
--Neutral good
Neutral
--Chaotic neutral
--Lawful neutral
--True neutral
Evil
--Chaotic evil
--Neutral evil
--Lawful evil
Now, looking at this I figure that if we choose the same group (such as “good” or “Neutral”) then we will be in the clear because the subgroups (chaotic or lawful) all seem to fall in the same category. To be on the safe side it would be wise to wait until further class information comes out to make the decision but it is something to think about.

Good points.
I guess it is more important than I first imagined to all choose the same god or from the same group of gods and make certain we're not worshipping opposing ones.

I was thinking Zephyr. He seems to cover our major strong points and is interesting in nature. Give you guy's opinion though of course

Here is some quick info I dug up that might help clarify a few things (if you guys didn’t know this info already).
Hell (Chaotic good)
Aesir (Lawful good)
Ysatis (Neutral good)
Hydra (Chaotic neutral)
Zephyr (Lawful neutral)
Neutra (True neutral)
Malecta (Chaotic evil)
Agnar (Neutral evil)
Calder (Lawful evil)
Each player can affiliate himself with a god. The choice of these deities is limited by the class and the race of the player. Thus, a black elf necromancer will have one possible choice.
Check out these webpages .. http://www.the-hive.dk/~donp/dnl/ .. and .. http://www.geocities.com/dnlportal/ .. you can check up every class that is allowed by each God. These webpages kind of condradict each other but that is to be expected when the game is still so far away.
Here are some good quotes that show that it would be in the guilds best interest to join up with Gods who like each other.
The religion of the character will make it possible to participate in religious quests.
If two people of opposite alignment (necromancer and paladin for example) group together, their divine faction is opposed and their chance in combat will decrease.
An individual who is in good standing with his god will have a benefit of assistance, and the chance takes into consideration many actions.
Gods in Ganareth are very sensitive to the gamer’s action. As Paladin, you do not have the same god as a Necromancer or as a Druid. If these three characters decided to group together, the Druid -- neutral by nature -- will not receive any disadvantages, the Necromancer and Paladin will receive loss in effectiveness as long as they are together as their gods are in opposition.
In order to enter the 10th kingdom, a character will have to be really in accordance with his god. This way we improve roleplay behaviour, because a misdemeanour will be more and more prejudicial at high level. Even at low levels, a god may decide to help a good worshiper being attacked by a stronger party.
I haven't actually spent the time to read up about each God so I really dont have an opinion but if my theory stands true then we would probably want to pick either Hel, Aesir, or Ysatis.

As I deig deeper into this subject it seems that the best choice for us would be to all choose good aligned gods which would allow us to minimalize the anger receved from your god for grouping with a worshiper of another god.
The main prolem for me seems that every single god manages to leave out 1-4 key classes that I expect this guild will have as release nears and we deal with the sudden influx of activity.

Looking good I'll read this stuff over tomorrow and the stuff on our forums and see if I can get a better understanding of it.
Yea I would doubt we'll all be able to have the exact same god without seriously limiting the classes in our guild. But as long as we don't have opposing gods, and try to stick more strongly to one or two we should be ok.

Hmmm...I thought it would be more open as 2 what god(ess) i could choose to follow, but as i go through the list of races and classes, it seems that in many cases, once you choose your race and your class, that u become limited to a choice of 2 god(esses) available to choose from?
Any1 else find this 2b the case?...or do i just need to look at a few more race/class combos?..

Im not trying to worry about it too much until some solid information is actually released about this subject. At this point its all speculation and Im not going to worry about it for about another 5 months or so. =P
