View Full Version : Age of Judgement - Light - Dragons

With everything regarding DnL on track again the Age of Judgment clan is opening its doors to new recruits.
We will be active in the defense of Light territories with our fellow Lights and in the quest to free the dragons from the influence of their evil master Dragoon. So we combine action with light roleplay. We aim to be a land holding clan active in politics so we seek players from all time zones and all game interests. Our structure allows for both casual and hardcore gamers. Multi-lingual players are especially welcome. We are a family friendly clan so appropriate language in chat and on TeamSpeak is required.
Despite being a land holding clan we will not put treasure above action. If we are not experiencing at least 25% losses (wealth and kill ratio) to the Dark side we are playing too conservatively and I will have to do something. Too often I have seen clans go defensive once they have a little land to protect resulting in the evaporation of the fun factor. So while we will always attempt to have some land in "safe areas" all members should expect a roller coaster ride.
I am also looking for an honorable Dark roleplay clan to be a roleplay opponent in order to arrange set piece battles and other events. Anyone who is protecting Dragoon in the kingdom of Calder could be such an opponent. Dark Elf clans or Dark Dragon clans would be perfect.
The decision to join a clan pre-game is always difficult. But the advantages are that you get to shape the character of the clan. And not everyone can get into our clan. You must pass a simple test asking some basic questions about DnL and our role in it.
Leadership in the clan has two tracks, the task force track and the special interest group (SIG) track. Task forces are pick-up groups that qualified leaders can form when they get in game. The most obvious example is a raiding party. The commander of a small raiding party will have to have recorded experience and have passed a trial test before he can claim the title of raiding commander. He has no command authority over anyone outside his group. This means both hardcore and casual gamers can be commanders and one is not bossed around when doing other things.
Leaders in the SIG track are the more traditional clan officers who gain their position by service to the clan. SIGs include such functions as defense, raids, intelligence, trade, crafting, etc. Players can also suggest and lead SIGs of their own creation such as SIGs dedicated to a certain god. SIG leaders have the responsibility of developing policy for their SIG with the SIG members and to see that it is carried out in coordination with overall clan policy. Clan members can join as many SIGs as they want. If actions need to be done that benefit the clan but impoverish the individual the SIG leader will authorize payments of various types. So our clan goals are mainly achieved by using incentives.

"The Settlers of Ganareth" fits perfectly with our clan theme. Dragoon is loose in the world and we must defeat him and his minions in order to settle the land.
We are a light roleplay and a light PvP clan with less than 20 members at the moment since we have been dedicated to Dark and Light for a long time. We are well organized internally and have many good friends externally who will work with us in settling the land of Ganareth.
Our 50 person Ventrillo server is up and running for all our fighters and any other members or friends who want to use it.
Our Links section has links to all Light clans having web sites. If you have a web site (Dark or Light) and are not listed please let me know.
More announcements will be coming as we get closer to game launch.

The following was my response to a thread started by WerzKhezz who was wondering how clans will mix nobility authority with clan authority. Unfortunately not many answered so I post this here so it doesn't get lost.
----------------------------------
In the case of Age of Judgement Barons and above will be officers in the clan reporting to me and they will control their own forum section. Clan fortress owners (Lords) in that Baron's lands report to him. From what I understand almost anyone can get the basic skills to be a Lord but not any higher nobility.
Like all top level officers of a SIG (special interest group) Barons have to follow general clan policy that is approved by the whole membership. But this policy is very broad since our organization pushes responsibility as low down the chain of command as possible. This includes letting the Lords have the major responsibility for their tasks by not being micromanaged by the Baron. (where that exact line is can only be determined from some actual experience in game).
So the clan will set the tax rate or required weekly rent due from the Baron and each Lord (and his village) letting any profits left over for the Baron to use in further developing his village and the Lords to use in enhancing fortess defense. If what they are doing is important to the clan as a whole for strategic reasons then clan funds will be used to augment the normal profits.
As for a politician only guild I don't think that will work since the politician would not have much of a base to launch their careers. But that is why we have flexible SIGs. Not only can they act like normal clan officer divisions but they can also act like mini-clans within our clan. So all the potential politicians (land owning or not) can group together in their own forum section under their own leader.

I am pleased to report that we continue with our slow steady growth with players who really care about DnL.
We now have a good mix of European and North American players so if time zone is a concern for you we have those areas covered. We still need people from the Asian time zone to start building up that time slot though.

As we continue to grow we continue to organize.
We are looking for skilled PvP players who love tactics. Battles in DnL will not only will be fortress seiges but also large field contests as one side brings up their siege equipment. These battles promise to be on a scale never before seen in an online game. Consequently, we seek those who know how to use cavalry screening and are disciplined enough to use time to target information and to set traps (ambushes)
We also need members who like PvE and resource gathering. These include hunters, explorers, miners, traders, crafters, etc. All resources gathered will be sold at market rates to other members although the clan and allies get first dibs and the transfer may be taxed by the clan (depending on the economics of the game since the fighters need to be supported so they can protect our merchants).

I am still in need of some good explorers, we have all types of players in our guild so if you want to PvP a lot and explore a little that would be fine. I will also be doing a lot of recon on enemy area so there will be dangerous activities if you are into that sort of thing. I am in this for fun, beating the darkys is just a plus :)
If you are interested please send me a PM or check out our website, thanks

We are a Light roleplay clan themed around dragons. What this means is that for PvE we will be seeking to kill the evil Dragoon and his minions. Our art is dragon based and most of us hope to be dragon riders one day. Other than that we talk and act normal in chat. Many of us like to be creative by writing little stories in true roleplay tradition but that is optional. Having your own dragon makes that easy. Mine is named Karanoth by the way.
For those who want a little heavier roleplay we have the University of Magic for all magic users.

We have recently established a special interest group (SIG) just for new members (initiates) once SoG goes live. The leader of this group (Commander Nadare) will guide new players through the first levels of Dark and Light. He will be able to draw upon the talents of all AoJ members in order to achieve this.

The Light do not have many PvP clans of any size so go Light for the challenge!

I'm 16 years old (soon 17) from sweden.
I like to either sneak around (scouting / assasination / bounty hunting) or play as a mage . I'm mature atleast so my friends say. If you meet me in game you would probably guess that my age is 22+ (most ppl do in wow , everquest 2 and so on do) I can Rp , Pvp , scout what ever is needed.
Hmm did i miss something : )?

The crafting is a bit off-topic these days because it will not be included initially in SoG, but we already started to plan our activities. We expect to support the combat oriented SIGs within AoJ and to receive support from them.

Name: Vanadiel
Race: High Elf
Class: Illusionist or Ranger/Tamer
Alignment: (You must be Light) as light as I can be
Background:
I started my immersion in MMORPG with Ascheron's Call 1 and found out the aspects of the games i like best are indeed in Role Playing. I despise any non interactive game, FPS or board/online games.
After playing AC1 for about 6 months I moved to SWG as soon as it was launched mastered Rifleman, then Carbineer in Valcyn (before they fixedthe profs) moved to Tempest server since it was the newest server and mastered TKM/MCM (Pre cu). As part of the Tempest community I helped in bringing in diplomatic resolution between the 2 warring factions (roleplay) by forcing my guild Krayt Dragoon to allow members of the opposing faction to use the shuttleport of Mos Krayt. Our city Mos Krayt is situated in the Krayt Graveyard POI which was of interest to all faction since it is where the Krayt Dragons spawn the most and hence the market for Krayt pearls (used for Saber crafting)
I left SWG even before the combat upgrade (1st massive nerfing, 1 1/2 years due to no content added ) and settled on other MMORPG such as Anarchy Online (Rubika-1, level 200 Metaphysics), WOW (Level 60 Rogue), beta tested A Tale in the Desert 1 and lurking the Dnl Forums.
In Dnl i would like to get my hands on crafting with 1 of my 3 alts, I love PvP though i woulnt consider myself an expert PvPer.
I may have some experience in getting groups together to hunt, level or what have not and can lend those experiences with guildmates. I prefer grouping with people of like mindset, funny yet not childish.
I have a level 12 Illusionist and have been doing some solo work atm. I'm 32 years of age, working for a software publisher for the past 5 years in Silicon Valley.
I would love to join and contribute in the elimination of the Darkside in Ganareth. My Wrath is the wrath of the Light Gods of Ganareth and AoJ will prevail over the Dark Forces.
PS: I went to your Guildsite and I did not see the application for AoJ in the news section.

Dear Roan (Vanadiel),
I'm a SWG veteran too (I had a pre-cu jedi) but I recently quit because of the NGE.
I'm glad that you're not scared by the many bugs that are currently found in SoG :) I'm a 30 years old software developer and personally I'm used to working with betas ;) but I see the huge potential of DnL! It is expected to be a decent replacement for SWG :) Maybe not SoG, but DnL.
Within AoJ I'm organizing the crafting special interest group. We'll be glad to have a MMORPG veteran like you in the guild!
In order to have mature members in AoJ, we have a simple entry test which is located on the title page of our site (http://www.ageofjudgement-dnl.org/aoj/index.asp) under the Recruitment section.
You should be able to find them, and to follow the instructions there of how to send your answers.
I'll be really glad to have you in AoJ and in the Crafting SIG of course :)!

History of the Age of Judgement Clan (written in the year 8000)
In the years before the creation of the city of Al Drifa in the year 4444 refugees of all races fleeing from the devastation wrought by Dragoons minions trickled into the southern coastal regions of what is now the Kingdom of Light. They only stopped there because they could retreat no further. Along the coast is a range of mountains belonging to the ancient earth spirit Arsiya. The Dwarves and Gnomes settled in the high mountains, the humans on the tops of the hills in the mountains foothills, and the elves in the mystical wooded valleys surrounding the hilltops. Finally the Lutins settled in the plains next to the foothills. As the majority of these refugees were users of constructive or traditional magic or at least they feared destructive magic they drove the destructive magic users out from their midst.
Gradually these people organized societies around their own kind. Yet the Humans and Elves were forced to cooperate more with each other than with the other races since Humans, in order to get to other hilltops had to cross the valleys controlled by the Elves yet the Elves couldnt move down most of their valleys without being within range of Human fortifications. The result was the loosely organized Kingdom of Arsiya. In fact, the ancient legends from this place hold that the first half Elves were seen here. Al Drifa himself is said to have visited this area just before he founded the city named after him and to have been inspired by the cooperation of the races and their desperate need for peace and safety.
As the years went by the Kingdom of Arsiya grew in power while the rest of Ganareth trembled under the hammer blows of Dragoons legions. By 5500 the Humans of the Kingdom belonged to only two royal houses, the de Hyrsts and de Halstows who soon expected a marriage to unite them and the humans once and for all under one royal house. Meanwhile the Elven peoples were uniting as well and both Humans and Elves expected that a royal marriage would soon unite them into one powerful, tightly knit, Kingdom of Arsiya. But before these plans could be realized news came that the anti-Dragoon Alliance was near defeat. Their last hope was to trap Dragoon in Rhuria Pass but they needed help. Finally realizing that if the Alliance was defeated any hope they had for a united Kingdom of their own would vanish, the Kingdom of Arsiya sent all their armies into battle at Rhuria Pass.
After receiving the heartbreaking news of the Alliances defeat at Rhuria Pass the expectant families waited for the return of their army. When only a few stragglers returned everyone knew they must leave their beloved homeland before Dragoons minions appeared to complete their victory. So the remnants of the royal families lead their followers to Al Drifa. But before they did they all took a sacred vow sealed with the ancient magic of Arsiya that one day they would bring judgement to Dragoon and return. From that day on the exiles called themselves the Age of Judgement after that distant hope.
Yet this forced exile caused a split in the Human royal families. The de Hursts cursed the gods for being powerless, treacherous, or incompetent in the face of Dragoon while the de Halstows believed that only by believing in the gods even more could they gain the strength to overcome Dragoon.
While at Al Drifa the exiles learned that not all dragons were evil. If they could be separated from Dragoons power they became willing, powerful and loyal allies. Age of Judgement adopted these free dragons as one of their own. With the free dragons, the newly discovered mana power, and with the mana fountains energizing the gods Age of Judgement joined the reconquest beginning in the year 8000. As the reconquest neared its end with the defeat of Dragoons dragon forces but before the fight for resettlement began the members of Age of Judgement realized that they had to go out of Al Drifa as a united people. So it came to pass that Oakworth de Hyrst and Ceatta de Halstow were married finally completing the dream of uniting the humans. What remains is the task of uniting the Kingdoms Elves with the Kingdoms Humans.
Yet Age of Judgement now had another problem. In order to complete the magically sealed vow of their ancestors they had to return back in their ancestral lands in the Mountains of Arsiya. Yet they could not do that since that land was now covered with other refugees and Dragoon was still out there somewhere in the land of Ganareth, still seeking to destroy their people. They could not be in two places at once! After long years of research by the University of Magic they concluded that simply putting up a castle in that ancient land and making it the symbol of government would satisfy the magic. This would leave Age of Judgement to create a new Kingdom of Arsiya in the newly freed territories and to seek out Dragoon while satisfying the demands of the magical oath.

The release of DnL's economic information seems to indicate that DnL is close at hand and that we can finally begin to make some plans for it. Fortunately it will be a lot more interesting than SoG (which was boring!).
So Age of Judgement is coming back to life. So if you are a gamer who likes variety and multidimensional gaming (not just the old grind fest) check us out.
