Here is the history behind the mystery of why Rift and Akyros just don't get along.
Long ago, on a planet far faaaaar away in the land of Dark and Light there lived young wizards, named Legion and Draigen. They had been friends since they were born 7 years ago, both being dropped off by storks on the same day. The storks had made a mistake though for they had dropped off the two infant wizards in a magical tree. Not just an ordinary magical tree, but a tree inhabited by Catz! You see, Catz was a mystical being that was neither dark or light, but rather a dingy greyish color that was most unappealing.
It so happened that Catz did not do such an "even" job at raising the lads. All of her light characteristics were transferred to Legion, and all the dark were transferred to Draigen. Catz was punished by the magical tree for creating such a rift in the akyros and for doing this Catz was turned opaque. This was quite fitting because she was no longer dark, nor light. The spell cast on Catz could only be broken if she chose what to become, either dark or light. This is a terribly hard spell to break because Catz had grown close to both of the lads.
After Catz had dissapeared the tree decided to change the boys' names. Draigen was named Rift for he used a forked staff. And, Legion was named akyros for he did not require a staff. Over the next few years the boys grew older, more powerful, and apart. They lived in the old magical tree until they reached the age of 18. At this time the tree decided to tell them where Catz had dissapeared to. After pondering how to break the spell both wizards had a wonderfully wicked plan. Rift thought, "If I destroy akyros it will be a simple choice for Catz to make!" And akyros thought, "If I destroy myself it will be a simple choice for Catz to make."
While akyros went about finding the best way to destroy himself, Rift crept up behind him. The hairs on the back of akyros's neck stood up as he sensed Rift's staff being lowered on him. In that instant it hit akyros like a brick wall that it would be just as simple if he could destory Rift. So a fight of broke out in that valley of old testament proportions, but neither wizard could best the other and they decided to seperate. Rift fled to the south of Fight Valley, and akyros made his way north of Fight Valley.
Now both wizards have begun guilds of warriors so that some day they might be able to surpass the other in strength. Rift has called his guild Chaos to Control to Conquer, and akyros simply labeled his Mystical Awakening. Now, the time has come for all to make alliances with one of the guilds. Join CCC or MA. The choice is up to you! But be wary to join CCC, even though Rift now has more fellow warriors, they are weak and easily disposed of!
