Folks, in noticing the thread regarding Ebonlore I feel I need to tell you of the history of Ebonlore and their leader.

Now, to get this straight now, I have never been a member of Ebonlore, nor have I ever had any direct dealings with them.

What I have is a long history in MMORPG gaming and I have frequented every games forums.

Ebonlore has a great reputation for PVP in games, however, they also have a horrible reputation for stealing things from guild mates, cheating, and screwing over their own members to make money on ebay. I've read countless threads on the forums of varied games about their practices and their leader Ewle.

Ewle is notorious in games for making members contribute to guild banks and then cleaning them out to sell on ebay and the like.

If you want to be a part of a guild with a core of a few members who have been with the guild for a long time who work together to screw you, by all means.

This post is a friendly warning. If you don't get banned for being a part of the guild, you will end up getting riped off.

I know there will be memebrs of Ebonlore coming here to defend themselves, calling me a liar, tossing insults etc. I won't be responding to them.

Do some google searching for Ebonlore and do a little research before joining this guild. You will thank me later.

Let me let you in on a few secrets since Ebonlore is no more and I've cancelled my subscription until PvP becomes a reality in EQ2...

All of Ebonlore crafters were macroed unattended and continue to be macroed semi-afk.

Ebonlore exploited every bug we could find leveling up including bugs against raid content.

We were #1 world wide for wealth due to the explotation of a bug in Runnyeye back in early December. Bashm's little group(The leadership of this new guild Genocide) exploited hundreds of PP farming a named insta spawn that was bugged in RE 24x7 for over a week while most of you were 15-25 scrapping the pot for gold.

Several of my former IC and members have memberships on just about every EQ2 hacking site out there and regularly use these exploits and hacks for personal gain.

You are right about one thing: Ebonlore did whatever it took to get ahead and still does now as Genocide!

It's kind of funny why all this happened. RL became > EQ2 and I wasn't able to play more than 35-40 hours a week and the 50's with no life, job, or school decided to revolt.

Oh well, I had fun while it lasted... See you when they open a Zek Server! Until then enjoy your PvE content!

PS You'd be a fool to trust Genocide on anything. They are just Ebonlore minus me with a new ADD medicated leader (Keke). I give it a month before they fall apart from lack of being able to organize raids and actually kill something. God forbid they actually get new loots to post...

PSS Vagabonds you beat Ebonlore to the punch on the dragon quest EL's level 50's weren't dedicated enough to hang for a 6 hour raid to finish it.

It always starts with someone that got their ass handed to them by Ebonlore in some game in the past posting one of the following:

1) They killed me and my destroyed my city they must have cheated

You know you've done a good job at crushing your enemies when they are posting about how you killed them back in 1999.

After 8 years of domination you would think folks would realize we do very well in MMORPG's and we'll be continuing that tradition in D&L.

As I have stated already, I have never been a member of Ebonlore, nor have I even played on the same server in a game with Ebonlore. Trying to make it sound like you killed me in a game and I'm simply trying to get some sort of revenge isn't going to help you cover up the truth.

Nobody from Ebonlore has ever killed me in any game.

I've simply played every MMORPG since UO and am very familiar with your guilds history through the varied forums I frequent.

Your scammers, exploiters, and you recruit openly in new games and use those new members as pawns. You build them up then take their stuff and sell it on ebay when the core members either get banned from the game or decide to leave.

I've read about the alts Ewle uses to sell things in case her toon gets banned. I know the whole deal.

I've even read the Ebonlore forums because its a great place to learn of new exploits to report to GM's. It's funny what you read there sometimes.

Overall, Ebonlore is an exploiters guild whose only real purpose is to give part time income to the core members.

Like I said, do some research before thinking of joining them. I'm sure you can find a much more mature guild that won't get you into trouble.

Ebonlore is a dark guild and they are on the same faction as Oblivion. I will not let our differences cloud my judgement. I believe Ebonlore will do the right thing in DnL.

I wll not let any light or wanted create this division, and I will do everything in my power to create a good working relationship with every single dark guild and that includes Ebonlore. Yes, of course Ebonlore and Oblivion don't agree on many things, but the dark side must stand united against the lights.

No guild is perfect, and like I said on my above post; I believe Ebonlore knows their mistakes and will make ammends in DnL.

Why would someone who claims that he's never been a part of or played with Ebonlore have such a beef?

Answer: He's lying and feels angry about events that personally effected him in the past.

Ebonlore makes no secret that we are power gamers that are very good at using game mechanics for our own advantage. After all MMORPGs are competitive games with winners and losers and jelousy breeds hatred (As well as cities burned to the ground). Some folks just get angry when they lose and hold onto that anger for years!

Perhaps this time around you should consider a guild that is going to be more successful than your last... Heck maybe even an app to Ebonlore is in order given the motivation and initiative you have already shown.

Why the thread then?
Because I can't stand people or guilds who screw over people by exploiting the games they play at the expense of everyone else, then prance around as if to have accomplished great things. Avoid this guild at all costs. Ewle is a very bad person, and she uses her various guilds in different games for her own financial gain.

Unfortunately the write-up where a long-time member had written some of her expolits is gone, but basically she cleaned out all the guild's assets in Shadowbane and sold them for RL cash.

So I am sure she was just as bad as in EQ1.

And then throughout EQ2, there were all sorts of rumors about them selling beta info about high-end content to Ogaming (who is affiliated with IGE) so they could have an extensive database on launch. (or something like that-I can't remember the specifics) And there was the whole part about Ewle giving 'free' accounts to people who wanted to level one of each of the crafting professions, and then taking them back once they were leveled up to use their skills for her own bankroll. Now they are probably being liquidated on Playerauctions to prepare for DnL.

We've actually heard this accusation many times in the past. Even some of our own members have become angry at us over the years. If you're willing to listen to our side I'd like to explain what actually happened.

We did e-bay our guild assets when we left Shadowbane. We are not ashamed of it; in fact we used that money to recoup many of our web hosting fees. At the time Ebonlore was providing free e-mail, videos, web hosting space, ventrillo servers, and even small game server capability to our members. We had also grown to an overly large 1,500 players. Our guild has always been known for our organization, as you may know we have weekly guild meetings when we're in a game. Attendance at the time had dropped below 50%, at the end of Shadowbane our quality of membership had also dropped. It’s a mistake we didn't repeat in EQ2, and we won't repeat in DnL either.

At one of our weekly guild meetings Ewle decided to take a vote. This is very unusual for her, because her style is usually totalitarian. Nonetheless, the result of this vote was that we should leave Shadowbane as a guild. The game had far too many bugs, large raids were unplayable, and we had more or less done everything the game offered. The inner council and Ewle decided that rather than let our Shadowbane assets be destroyed or forgotten, we should e-bay them to regain some of the large sum of money our leadership had been putting out. We did not make a profit off of Shadowbane or any previous game where we've ebayed our individual characters when leaving. To date Ewle and some of the other guild officers have put hundreds of their own dollars into the guild, and will continue to do so over the years. We have at times asked for optional member contributions, and received a small portion of our monthly fees from our membership.

In Everquest 2 we did not sell information to anyone. We did have contacts with a number of EQ2 websites as well as the SOE staff. Our guild crafter, Marissa set up a fansite for crafters and our members pooled large amounts of data to support it. In addition we have always been proud of our ability to create graphs, charts, and tables of game knowledge so that our members could have an edge in the game. Often, we release this information to the community at a later date to increase the traffic on our site and drive up excitement about our guild. I will reiterate however that we have never been compensated for any data that we have generated.

As for the 'free' accounts issue. We created crafter accounts that would be controlled by our guild for the mutual benefit of all of our players. Like many of our guild ventures this was funded mainly by the leadership and partially by the members. All of the guild sponsored crafters understood that these accounts belonged to the guild and that we would access them 24/7 to meet our crafting needs, and that they would be funded extensively through the donations of individual members in-game. Crafters who did not seek guild support were welcomed to create their own accounts and fund their crafting themselves. In the end the majority of our crafters took that route, but received many free resources from our members.

Hopefully I have answered all of your questions. I know that all powerful guilds that ruin the game for others will be seen as evil and underhanded. Ebonlore has in the past had immature members who tarnished our image, and people who have been kicked out of the guild and seek to drag it down with them. Less than half of the people who apply get their membership. However, you'll notice all of our membership for the Dark and Light community meets a much higher standard than it ever has in the past. I request that you, and those like you, that seek to create sensational threads using harsh language, please ask your questions more maturely. I have been an officer in the guild for four years now and will attempt to answer any further questions you have.

Why do you use exploits and macros in every game you play?
Why were you one of very few entire guilds banned from EQ?

You may be the only half intelligent person in the guild, but it doesn't make you or your guild any less of an exploit guild who will do anything in their power, legal or not to make sure you are considered "better" than everyone else, even if it means getting yourselves banned.

Sounds to me like a large group of kids seeking acceptance amongst themselves while trying to accomplish things in a game they can't in RL. Of course pulling the same crap in RL will land you in jail and not an account ban...

Ah well, it looks like you have been through this a million times by now and people are much wiser to your schemes.

Ebonlore people, you have no need to defend yourself if you are as good as you say you are so don't worry what people say so much now, it will soon show in game.

Opulentrecords, if they are as bad as you say they will do just the opposite and fall apart and all sorts of bad things will happen to them on their own. I understand you want to protect the people about to join them but these posts probably attact them hehe.

You may be the only half intelligent person in the guild, but it doesn't make you or your guild any less of an exploit guild who will do anything in their power, legal or not to make sure you are considered "better" than everyone else, even if it means getting yourselves banned.

We weren't banned in Shadowbane and EQ2 for macros or exploiting. In fact, we weren't banned in EQ1 for macros or exploiting. Ewle was accused of it and the entire guild was disbanded. None of the other guild mates were involved, or even in the same zone. Strange don't you think?

Sounds to me like a large group of kids seeking acceptance amongst themselves while trying to accomplish things in a game they can't in RL. Of course pulling the same crap in RL will land you in jail and not an account ban...

Proof? Proof has been posted all over the internet for years. I've seen the screenshots and read the threads. Will I dig them all up now? Nope.

I don't argue with your 'results' I argue with your attempts to make us disbelieve it's not cheating. It's pretty cut and dry, it breaks the rules, the game and well....four games later and you still haven't figured it out, I don't expect you to figure it out anytime soon. You're no better than ethnic farmers in those regards....

Ebonlore is certainly getting a ton of publicity, but not all publicity is good.

Look, the fact that some of our members may have gone beyond what is accepted to win doesn't change the fact that we are going to own in DnL. If you think our allies care about our reputation you're wrong, take a look at our allies. If you think our members care you're wrong, they do whatever it takes to win. We are going to own in Dark and Light and there's nothing you can do to stop us.

I don't plan on cheating in this game, and I don't encourage Ebonlore members to cheat. Hopefully that will give you some small solace. Either way though, we're going to hit this game very hard, and we're going to succeed.

We are not here to defend or support Ebonlore. Be sure there is no love between us. We have merely chosen to focus our energy in a more effective manner than continuing to engage in senseless exploding forum threads.

The fact that they are also Dark aligned means that there is little either of us can do (short of going Light) to immediately harm one another, and we also understand that sometimes "the enemy of my enemy is my friend." Basically meaning that our immediate focus has to be the Lights, then we can concentrate on destroying each other... when the situation betters suits that action.

Oblivion recognizes the Lights' attempt to cause a tension between Ebonlore and Oblivion, but your efforts are sophmoric and requires no response.

I find it rather amusing that I knew it was only a matter of time before a thread like this started for Ebonlore. Coming from old school EQ1 on the Emarr server has its drawbacks I suppose.

I basically skimmed through the last few pages of the thread because it quickly began to sound like any thread I've seen concerning them from back in the old EQ days.

I mean, not every guild can claim to have it broadcasted to an entire server that their leader was banned and the guild disbanded by the GM's eh? Followed by every single zone being spammed with "WOOT". It's a real accomplishment to be proud of for sure.

I seriously don't care what you've done, or who any of you in your guild think you are. I still remember Ewle's leetness that she had to express by training spectres on the newbies in Oasis over and over again, and the general 9 year old attitudes that spewed forth from every single member of the guild. I think it might have even been a requirement back then. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed leaving my static dwarf camp to come derail the trains...I remember one time in particular that I ran the spectres away from the beach and found Ewle had already become a victim of her own train near the Sro zone.

I don't know any of the new EL kiddies, but if you follow Ewle, I at least know where you stand.

I would attempt to truely flame or insult, but that grew old back in EQ1 with people more deserving, and if she remembers anything from that game and those message boards after all the griefing and exploiting she's done since then, then she might remember my opinion well enough. Don't really care if she doesn't since that was many years ago.

Just a note to show any new recruits that they should know what they're getting into, and it's not a legacy to be proud of.

I would much rather have Emarr be known for Ice Clan/Da`kor/Magister/Midnight Sojourn/Storm's Fury/Midnight Fury and the other truely top level guilds....
