IRC Channel

Was thinking of looking into an irc channel whats yer thoughts , or has anyone made 1 as yet , always handy to be on irc for a chat etc :D (miss irc :D its been awhile)

An IRC channel would be really nice, at least until SoG goes live and we can use guildchat :)

Im also thinking that it would be cool to get a ventrillo server up n running for when SoG is running, im not sure if we can use the old one tho, do you know V?
last thing i know is Gazzy took it offline?

Gazzy still has it online but it is used with up2 40 people at a time for wow, + an old ut clan still uses it so i dont think that hed allow us too use it i reckon allthough i dont know m8y

yea either muff or tzu would need to ask gaz if we could use it..i havent used it in a long time so i personally wouldnt want to ask gaz lol...all we need is a spare comp with ventrillo and the owner of the comp to have a decent b/band connection..is it? or do we need to hire a server? either way we can use team speak or some other prog

K set up an irc channel on the old ut irc details as follows

IRC SERVER: irc.utassault.net
Port: 6667
Channel Name: #Mythralyn


Had a look at qaukenet channels and way too complicated and time consuming and restrictive for me lol this was easier :) need any help leave a post and ill try to help if not im sure viracocha may be able to explain bit better how to join :)

After you join channel with nick you want too use then to register your nick and keep it safe for your use type /msg nickserv register enterpassword enteremail , putting a password instead of enterpassword and your email instead of enteremail

Every time you join channel after that you type /msg nickserv identify enterpassword ,putting your password you used above instead of enterpasswrod and thatll authorise you as they user of the nickname.

There is an auto identify script you can use to save typing the /msg nickserv identify enterpassword but ill have to find it again.

When you have done the above and registered your nick i can add you to the auto superop list which gives you channel power at top lvl and every time you log on and identify your nick the bot will give u the superop status after that itself :D, sounds technical but youll suss it , hmm then again we have stoner vira loool :p
