I have decided to form a mature dark alignment guild. I remember back when I started playing UO 6 years ago the gaming community was more relaxed and people actually seemed to enjoy the game a lot more than they do today. I am looking for members who are not self consumed, are team players and like to have fun. I would prefer members who are 25yrs old or older, but I will make exceptions for mature individuals. At present we have a professionally hosted website with forums, and a dedicated guild ventrilo server. Feel free to visit our website and register on the forums, or send an email if interested to Sperg@the-vikings.net.

Not sure how set you were about starting your own guild but thought I might throw out an option for you.
Storm Front has been around for many years, through many various games, most of the "founding" members having played together for 6+ years. (We've played EQ, EQ2, SWG, DaoC, AO, Horizons and more)
We are a band of mature players (most of us 30+ years old), that enjoy fighting, exploring, crafting, and of course PvP. (We also have a dedicated TeamSpeak server we use while playing)
We are always looking for more mature, like minded people to join our ranks. Sense of humor is a must.
Im going to PM our TS info to you, even if you would rather start your own guild its always nice to meet more like minded folks. So feel free to get on TS with us and chat for awhile.
No matter what you do good luck
My Sig will link you to our forums

32 years old here...
As mentioned above there are a lot of mature guilds already established if you get the urge to join.

I'd like to join but don't make the age requirement. Some quick background on me though if you're interested.I'm 19 years old, Played EQ and WoW for about 9 months each (quit EQ to play WoW, quit WoW because of bad community). I am currently playing Daoc, but have been out for a month with internet issues (should be solved in time for this game). My friend and I will be giving this game a shot when it's released and/or this open beta (or what it seems like) starts. I haven't followed game progress much, just get the newsletters here and there, so I'm still not 100% sure what's going on with the release of the game and this new settlers thing. I've been interested in playing on the dark side, and would enjoy a mature community to play with (I'm sure my friend would as well). The best way to contact me would probably be through e-mail, chromelobster_@hotmail.com.
Edit: If it helps I speak some french and can help out a little should we have any french-speaking members.

Perhaps you could tell us a lil more about what your vision for the guild would be.
What will be your main focus? PvP, Crafting or a mixture.
Have you lead a guild before?
Would you like to own castles/keeps?
Do you have an ideas for guild structure or are you more interested in a group of folks to BS with.
would 18 and over be acceptable if you had the chance to chat with em first?
Just a lil bump for ya and some more info for prospective members.

Ok to answer a few questions. I actually just left a hardcore PvP guild, they were a great group of guys and gals but their whole premise was pvp. It was great for a while, but eventually it becomes mindless and monotonous. I would like to build my guild with more open minded people. I would like to have a guild that carries an open door policy, where a select few do not decide the fate of the masses. Granted there will be rank, but with many guilds now days the membership kinda feel like the guild leaderis unapproachable. My goal as Leader is to make my members feel like they are a part of something, and not just tag alongs. To be honest I can't sit here and say what my guild objectives will be, it all depends on the membership and what they decide. Personally I would like to own castles, and keeps. I enjoy spending hours upon hours in game exploring every nook and cranny of the in game world. I don't want to rule a zerg, I would like to keep active membership to 25 members or so, and I would like the membership to be culturally diverse, PvP, Crafting, and Exploring. I would like the guild to be totally self sufficient. However all members must be willing to pvp whether it be offensive or defensive.
I was actually the GL of a guild called Black Forest Legion on the Shadowbane War server, At peak I had 85 members with about 25 active on a daily basis. As far as age, I will be 31 next May and when I say Mature I mean I want members who can take constructive criticism and not run off in a temper tantrum everytime something doesn't go their way. As far as an age requirement I really have none, you can be 14 as long as you are mature. Also you must be willing to download ventrilo communication software, it is free and can be downloaded from the ventrilo.org website. The guild will be english speaking, and the website will be updated as soon as there is content to be written about. If you are interested feel free to send me a PM and I will send the ventrilo login so that we can discuss more in delpth.

*cough* *cough*.....read the forum guidelines.
bumping "old" threads without adding something new and useful to the thread is not allowed.
Dont do this in the future plz.
And blaming it on your chaotic-evil alignment wont help either ;)
Plus this thread belongs to the guildforum, really.....

I'm glad to see that there will be guilds here also that are mature guilds. I ran -SD- on SWG and we were a mature guild. Most of our members were 25+ with a few exceptions. I throroughly enjoyed the guild, community, and they were the reason I stayed with SWG almost 3 yrs. I am looking forward to finiding something similiar here. Hopefully I'll be bringing several members of -Silent Dawn- with me.
