Hi all I am a newly arrived member to these boards. I have one question that has been bugging me. since the game will feature a lot of fortresses. One player holding a fortress as it's "lord" or count or whatever the name is. Wouldn't that one person be vulnerable to repeated attacks I.E.: There are bound to be a LOT of players in the game (I am sure you hope for that). So the person holding that fortress if undergoing constant attack by various other players (10 or 20). Is there something built-in the system to prevent constant and repeated attacks by different players. Like can he draw upon higher ressources (his/her overseer). Just wondering as how hard it will be for someone who wants to rule a fortress later on in the game who could withstand up to 100 attacks a day by players (of course all my numbers are theoretical).
So question is this :a) Will player alliances be a very valuable asset in the game (having other people help you defend your fortress for example) or should I say a more valuable asset then NPC's help (buying mercenaries to defend it) ? This seems to me as a very invaluable asset for laying out RP possibilities.
b) Has anything been fleshed out to avoid the unending attacks scenario ?
