Played eq from the first year to just a few months ago
hope we find more of us from the best game I ever played
EQ,,,,,

Really been looking forward to playing DnL for months since i was
not really impressed with the Eq2 or WOW or SWG experiences
I loved raiding with 80 people Huge guilds good community
and class balance from eq as well as the RP and huge game layout
Hoping we get the awsome experience and longevity we had on EQ
and I hope to find the gamers that left for wow and eq2 last year

yep it exists they rolled the zeks together into one and took on one ruleset
think it was Rallos but I may be wrong, I was more pve and didnt really do
the zek servers.

yeah the zek's was an aquired taste so to speak ... esp sullen ... never did care for rallos that much ... not much could beat being a bard in FoH (no not fires of heaven) ...

i left eq about the time they started releasing several expansions one after the other that you more or less had to get to reach the upper levels ... still liked the game .. but that many years into it it was just time for a change for me ... hopefully this game will hold me for longer then 4+ years

Hi guys, I'm from EQ but I wasn't that into it. I made it to level 10 before my friends suckered me into DAoC back in the Day when most of the skills and spells didn't even exist. Things like not being able to climbs walls which was supposed to be a class skill or rune mages missing an entire line of spells => runes.

had to contact your group find out who died
Then if you didint have a cleric to rez....you were
searching for a druid to port you or it was time to ride
a Boat to where you were meeting to get a Necro to summon
you out to the entry of said zone........then have the cleric come
and rez you...then one and a half hours later you could take another
Jab at Nagafan to get that Cloak of flames for your friend that has wanted
it for months ....ahh the memories of the good old days

My main was a 65 Druid 230 AA's and then I had a 65 cleric as well (she was my buff bot mainly) anyways...good to see some eq1 players here. I tried eq2 for about 6 months but quickly lost interest and so Im hoping SoG/DnL rekindles my mmorpg flame.

me to ... it looks like DnL is going to have the same structure as eq did ... (basic structure, but with a lot more details and variations in it) ... that and the overall size of the world and quests are what held me in eq for so long (that and the pvp and the ever fun 'charm' exploit, and trains and ks'ing ... etc etc... heh i guess it shows i am a zek at heart)

Hi. EQ - Solusek Ro Minvaryen the Ranger. After the merge I took a trip to Chazic Thule. Ive also played on the Stromm server as Technotracker and Technocleric.

Also played eq2 for 6 months. Lvl 50 cleric named Kelvendros and lvl 45 ranger Alanthaleous both on kithicor.

Will be playing a High Elf Cleric here and a Wood Elf Ranger (pertty much my standard) in sog and dnl... looking forward to playing/battling with you all eqheads.

Realized the game mechanics were there to stop you from reaching max level and the down time plus exp loss on death was a joke. I looked back at my days in eq and realized I would fight about 20 minutes and sit for hours. The combat would last no time at all but then you had to sit staring off into space. The only thing that kept me going to as long as I did was the fact I had friends playing and I was on the pvp server and nothing else was out at the time.

Eq 2 has great gfx but no pvp so it's basically fag town. If you want to get hit on by 40 year old dungeon masters that live in their parents basement then dig in.

I thought dark age of camelot was based on eq 1 and added a realm v realm which was kind of fun. Had no problems with dark age. Have much represed anger over eq.

This game is going to be fun if it's truly pvp because from what I have read there are a ton of fresh meat coming into this game. Starwars players and eq players. Starwars was so easy I quit after a few weeks and before quiting soloed the highest mobs in the game. Way to easy and boring but that's what attracts the noobs I guess and maybe for them it took years to actually kill stuff. So I wish all the starwars and eq guys would all join the same side so I can go the other.

I just left eq not long ago due to endgame for me
once you have all-zone access ...and highest end gear its over at that

All the stupid nerfs that game did were because of people crying in pvp. They nerfed the wizard so bad at one point I could not kill an afk warrior and I tried for 10 minutes. His life would regen as fast as my mana.

How can anyone play an rpg game without pvp. It's funny because when people die from monsters it's no big deal but if they die from another player they scream "MY CLASS SUCKS!" and demand a nerf of the other classes. I just think that without pvp you don't get the full feel of an mmorpg. I think the everquest 2 gfx are amazing and the game is not bad but what's the point? Just leveling up on AI guided monsters that have no feelings if they die. It does not turn me on to kill a computer monster but maybe that's just me. Now a player against you is your brains against his so it's more of a rush.

So back on track. :) and let the rambling begin. Ok so I joined EQ on the second expansion.. it was right before plains of power. I was a dark elf mage. It took me forever to find it out of the town and I kept getting lost in ther orc side. Somehow I managed to find the pvsp quest and complete it at only lvl 6 or so. That came to bite me in the butt later on. The thing I enjoyed most was the community. I would get help and the occasional drop or help lvling from high lvl player which was nice and helped progression faster as well. Plus having spiffy gear is always fun. The most fun I had though had to be exploring with a noob group. I have never had so much fun being a noob as in that game. We could travel in areas we couldn't access alone and gang up on creatures that would desecrate one of us Beat on him a bit, flee for our lives and have archers or mage or necros cast spells when mana recharged till we killed our mighty lvl 15 foe. Getting chased was fun, and man were those some vandictive NPC's. I would run to the gaurds and have them kill them for me if I could. Slowing down enemies became my best friend. Occasionally I would get ganked but not too often. It was definitely the community that made me feel apart of something. I liked asherons call and tried asherons call 2 but that was horrible IMO. Nothing has been able to suck the time out of my day like EQ and I am hoping DnL can recapture that. High hopes because good MMORPG's are few and far between.

Just stopped playing because I didn't have enough time to do alchemy and adventure at the same time but I couldn't adventure without alchemy (money) so I stopped playing because I didn't wanna grind tempers anymore :P

I started playing EQ1 back in 2000 (i think, my memory is weak). I was Tsuntsu, a poor nerfed Shaman, in Solusek Ro. After being bored in PVE servers I started in Sullon Zek pvp with a little gnome necro (that one rocked, was not nerfed at all) whos name I have forgotten by now ( :boohoo: ).

I left EQ1 by the end of 2003.

EQ1 was a great and wonderful game till SOE started with their nerfing crazyness and their unability to balance professions.

I started EQ right after Kunark and played on the FV server till OOW. You could only have one char on that server so I rerolled about 10 times.

Hi I use to play on Cazic-Thule. Played a chanter for a long time then switched to monk and I dual played 'em a bit raiding etc. Was great fun until PoP came out and a Beastlord could solo better than my chanter/monk combo. Stopped playing about 3 months after PoP.

I played EQ up until i think Omens of War came out. I was once again disgusted my more RAs and lvl cap increase, need for new gear to stay in line with others. Same old cycle as every xpansion beforehand. I started playing DAoC, which has ups and downs. Its cool there because the past few xpansions the gear all stays in line with the Trials of Atlantis xpansion, so no need to go raid all the new biggest baddest stuff. They also dont raise the lvl cap every other xpansion. But DAoC is about dead, class balance issues, the overabundance of radar and speed hacking etc makes it kinda bleh to even log on. DnL looks to be the game we all been waiting for, hope to see some peeps online.

Took a 2 year break, got pullled back in right after SoV came out.
Played untill shortly after GoD came out, got tired of the XP cap, gear grind.

Played EQ from start till about 01ish? Got a few toons to 65 before I quit my main was on Kane Bayle but I can't remember all of my other toons info... I had a mid 30's Ranger in Flowers of Happiness for a little bit on whichever Zek server that was (Sullon?) Was the most fun I've ever had... Go Go Good Guys!! Quit before level cap was 70, just got too tedious with all of these expansions coming out with the same content just barely altered and renamed. Every new mmo I play I yearn for a class that embodies the old everquest necromancer, the class that was 90% skill 10% luck.. A damn good necro was unbelievable, being able to solo the sacred water part in valor for that earring or soloing the V guy in karnor castle, or soloing ToV or wiping out the entire lower level of Tactics haha.. that was ridiculous.. too bad it was an exploit :P

I played EQ for too many years...how many remember when Dragon loot was distributed by GM's? Lets say from Beta until about 2 years ago. Took the server split to Druzzil Ro, and was a long time member of Novus Invictus (You guys rocked). Killed every god too many times, and was killed by them too many times as well.

The game got old, when the Cleric's (mine was Qandail Inthewind) started getting the 45% haste helmets from PoTime...

That is when I decided to kick my addiction...

I've tried games like EQ2, Lineage 2, i just cant seem to find a game that was as good as memories as Everquest. Starting off that game was the most thrilling feeling for a game to provide. I think it was the community and the way people treated you good, not like a peice of garbage like most games do now. I think DnL doesnt even have to be that good just has to have a "nice" community that will wont argue with you over anything and everything. A buddy and I are both looking for a guild to join before release of DnL so if there is any Everquest guildies out there that want some respectful players let me know. my email is kelogen@hotmail.com email me and hopefully I can join you.

Hello all! I've been playing SoG a while but just now decided to post here. I'm now dedicating my playing to DnL but Everquest was some really good times! I meet tons of great people and raided almost everything I could! It was a blast but it finally came to an end, for me at least... Finally quit after leaving a few times and just finally tired of the way the game is turning with latest expansions.

Hope this game turns out to the expectations everybody wants, but am having fun already even with the bugs.

Played eq2 from release till june 1st played wow (to appease friends who won't stop talking about it) till this past week and couldn't stand it any longer so I reactivated EQ2. Got up to 46 with my dwarf rogue in Wow and quickly started to get bored with the cartoon graphics and the horrible community/playerbase, aka teenie boppers. Eq2 graphics better, pvp better, classes better (24 vs what 8 or 9?), 99% of the nice helpful players in wow were former eq'ers. Higher server populations in eq2 make for a more happening game as well. Yea I know wow has a zillion players but they also have a zillion servers and comparing the data from eq2 census and wow census eq2 has higher per server populations than wow WITH nil lag to boot.

Played SOG from Jan. till DnL release, had a blast with my ranger in SoG but was extremely dissapointed with DnL on release, going to stick it out though and hope they get it fixed by the end of the year.
