View Full Version : Theives Code of Honor

Please top this.
1.) Honor is foremost. Creating chaos on the outside is fine, but the utmost respect is demanded- and leathally enforced- with in the guild.
2.) The guild will provide a net of support, but not without support will the guild stand. All 7% of all stolen goods over the value of 100 GP is to be the property of the guild. It will pay for equipment for newer members and for mercanaries. The guild needs some source of revenue.
3.) If you do not comply with the aforementioned rule, you will be demoted or exciled.
4.) Any non guild thief will face... challenges... if they do not pay tribute to their brethren.
5.) A guild needs a headquarters, so eventually, strongholds must be aquired. Thieves may hire mercanaries with guild monies if the aquried stonghold will work for the good of the guild.
6.) NEVER, EVER, EVER, rat on your fellow guild members. You will die before you talk. If they don't get you, we will.
7.) After swearing loyalty to the guild, you are to remain loyal to the end. If you ever wish to leave, you must perish or pay 10% of all your assets to the guild. If you fail to do so, you will leave, not just the guild, but the mortal plane.
The Code is subject to change but always follows one principle:
Honor and dignity above all else.

Face me, then look behind me. Look closer... Yes? You see it? That's the Divinitus Guild of Light and my Elfen-friend Terevanincu is with em too. Besides... I'm not a thief anymore!

*ahum*
I MIGHT just be interested. If you could tell me what big advantages I would get for those 7 percent of all that I steal. Protection? How can you ensure that. Just to into any other guild and you'll get it more easely, for there not everyone is buisy pick pocketing others in some distant country and doing the things they want to do. Unless you do all the thieving close by your homes, and theres is a very large maffia organization behind all of it, (like the Shadow Thieves in the pc game Baldurs Gate II) I actually see no point for joining this unorganized band of scum. Hell I can also just go out, steal what I want, get protection from my guild wihout having to pay you that 7%!!! Look, gimme a GOOD reason why I should join.
P.S. Will the guild be of the Dark or the Light allience? I play Light. Yeh I might be a thief, but I try to be the Robin Hood sort of thief ;)
P.P.S. Does it matter if you are in another guild also. Quite an important question and nothing was said about that in your rules.

I do like your idea of a Rouge Guild, although it would be difficult to establish it in the beginning (everybody wants to level up and shares nothing etc). I would not mind to give away a part of my loot, 7% is acceptable. In exchange I would like to have voting rights in the Guild and to count on assistance for difficult Rouge tasks. Cheaper prices for items would be nice and maybe rare materials needed for poisons. But there should be a major difference between such a “Class-Guild” and any other ordinary Guild; otherwise nobody would want to join.
So here is one proposal (feel free to add more):
Since Thieves usually are not very welcome at any place it may become difficult to travel to certain lands or areas, when you are a well known criminal or even in the “most wanted” list.. With enough support given to such a “Class-Guild” the organization could be enabled to establish outposts all over the realm, little refuges for its members similar to the Shadow Thieves mentioned by Mavasha from Baldur’s Gate II. The location of these hiding places would be known only to the members of course and if a member would disobey the Code of Honor then your newly recruited assassins would come to course GrimeReaper ;)
However, if this could be realized in some way, I’m sure that other classes would become jealous and come up with a similar idea. Then our Rouge-Guild wouldn’t be so special anymore, but maybe it would be the first one  .
