The Order of the Golden Shields was first founded on Friday, April 27, 2001.
The original founders of the Golden Shields came from the Asheron's Call Darktide(open PvP) server. When these long time MMO fans learned about the upcoming open PvP and emprie building game Shadowbane, they decided to found the Golden Shields.
When the Golden Shields was first founded we had two years to wait for the release of Shadowbane. During these two years the guild played many online games inculding (but not limited to) Unreal Tournament, Dungeon Siege, Endless Ages Beta, Fung Wan Online Beta, Everquest and an array of online browser games.
When Shadowbane was fianlly released the Golden Shields enjoyed great success for a time. However, Shadowbane was one of (if not THE) buggiest and most unfinished MMOs ever released. Our first three cities were deleted because of bugs in the game that prevented us from making payments to our tree of life. Our fourth city suffered the same fate after Ubisoft banned our guild leader and nobody else had premission to pay the fees.
Those of you who think SoG is buggy and unfinished haven't seen anything until you have suffered through a few months of Shadowbane like we have.
This post is to announce the Golden Shields is planning to play Dark & Light as a guild and we are now recruiting fans of Dark & Light. We will be a light aligned guild and our mission is survival and loyalty to ourselves and our goals.
