Hello all, my name is Viper......
I was jsut wondering what features will be available in-game to work with for PvP. I myself am a VERY long time Ultima Online player, and PvP was the only reason i remained playing. With DnL are tehre going to be in-game macros?
For those developers that have played UO you will know waht i am talking about......will something like that idea be implemented into DnL. I am only asking because from looking at the screenshots PvP within these lands would be UNREAL. I personally hope there will be some sort of tracking skill available. So i can hunt players within these vast lands. I am also hopinf Binoculars will eb available.
My main question ehre is wil there be In game macros available?
Peace
Viper
PS love the game already

Though binoculars do sound a bit futuristic, I wouldn't think that a telescopic device of some sort would be out of the question. Telescopes are quite old ya know.

If there are in-game macros and the possibility of bots I for one will not play this game. If someone has the ability to let the computer do all the work while they read a book or sleep they shouldn't be playing the game in the first place.
RPG games are to be enjoyed... i definitely dont wish my social life to be messed up jus to keep up with u guys in the game. Macros is only used to repeat those actions that have to be repeated a thousands times not really a cheat or bot. like most other games, those training lifeskills mostly use macros or something... otherwise... so boring... u cant keep fighting to up lvl u know.. humans have to sleep..

Starbuck,
I think what viper means by macros i this: a macro would allow someone to easily access a spell without having to search through spellbooks or anything. It's a quickkey. I do agree that unattended macroing is pretty lame, but quickkeys are a must.
well I am against them, the game should be the same for all noone should be able to get an advantage just cause they can write a macro :D. And yes a macro is always an advantage no matter what it does

yes macros are unfair however you have to have hotkeys that you can set
eg the f1-f12
you can set them to equipt or unequipt weapons/armour/spells/items

I have never used hotkeys or macros but most of the time they aren't used to cheat and lvl up. Most people just use them to find spells or to perform a task. They don't hurt anyone.

Yeah more hotkeys I say. Quick setting up and access to those 'be prepared' spells or weapons. Hmmmm as for hacking your way through mons that spawn all over the place - won't neeed 'em if enough of us are pitted against each other pvp style. However they do sometimes put you in some very prickly situations to get yourself out of. And i don't mind the summons creatures or create a pet monster like in Helbreath and Anarchy Online. A bit of variety I say. I won't be bailing out of game 'cos of a couple of features I may not particularly like. We are already pretty sure it isnt going to be just another slash and hack - aren't we?? And you can't please all the people all the time. So there are gonna be some features we do like - and maybe some we don't.
oooooooo I can't wait - bring on the game!!!!

I agree. Hoykeys and macros are the way to go.
