I was going to make a rogue but after the stress test I am no longer sure.

I had a necro in SoG and it was ok, but the DnL one seems a lot better and Shadow Knight has some great abilities.

My main reason for wanting a rogue was the fact that I thought it would be good for getting stealthily into places to get crafting items and resources and general exploring.

every man and his dog is going necro it seems so I am not touching it. It is a strong class - read first for nerf bat :)

Enchanter looks good, very useful support class and can manage solo too with pets out.
Ranger is still good, so is shadow knight, archer is very nice as well.
Wasnt impressed with wizard, cleric is too healing focussed for me. Havent tried anything else.

Will probably have an enchanter, ranger or archer and shadowknight as my three slots.

I played a necro in SoG and whilst good at PvE if I came up against an enemy that used a ranged attack and it decided to ignore my pets and shoot me I didnt last long at all.

I am guessing that this will be even more troublesome at PvP, that doesnt bother me too much as PvP is not something I am all that interested in, auto targeting and combat ques make it all a bit dull and way too easy. No, I am more interested in exploring and crafting, its a lot more relaxing :-)

Besides my PC isnt the latest and greatest so if Battlefield 2 is anything to go by anyone who excels at PvP will surely be running the game on quite a high end PC, I have tried the stress test in a quiet area and got quite a low fps so large scale battles will be eyewateringly painful for me.

Have created a human male called Zorro, presently lvl 6. Plus a human female called Kreen and a Orc called Krum.

Playing Zorro at the moment - planning to take him upto ranger over next few days.

Balnoor and Kitt, have sent you invites in messenger to friends list.

Having a hard time finding mobs around 9-12 that I can grind on now I am lvl 6. Starter village only has mobs up to 6.

Made a sword and bought a bag plus food and have been exploring surrounding lands

See you soon ;)

Thanks for the invite, i'll be sure to accept when I get to log in next.

I made Balnoor a human female as its much nicer to look at and I still feel like going for necro, ok so its not original but I do like the class and have played it in EQ2 and a Warlock in WoW which was a similar class in as much as it has pets, its good for PvE which suits me just fine.

I made a half Orc which I was going to make a Shadow Knight, forgot what I called it though lol. All those drains reminded me of the WoW warlock, it was fun to fight mobs and drain tank them and there was hardly any downtime. Its lvl 6 and I went exploring as I couldnt find any mobs to kill for good fxp, ran east from the starter town for about 2 hours and found about 4 mobs of a level that I could take on, reminds me of EQ2 when it first started and wasnt very solo friendly.

I also made a Lutin, Draaki, which I will make a thief or rogue, I had to put points into the fighter class to make it able to kill stuff though, but thats ok as I think I can take them out later on. I quite like that idea as if its possible later on it gives you the opportunity to play about with various abilities and sort of tune your char, even might be possible to change things according to what you want to do at the time, probably not though.

Got in game today with Zorro and made lvl 8. Met Kitt and Elyn, joined TDR and also met a newcomer Elyn recruited. Linedya, I think she was called, very friendly.

Found the dragon port with 2 full size long haul dragons waiting to fly you via basket :) Didnt take the ride as I was only lvl 6 at the time.

Took lots of balloon rides looking for mobs and swopped tales with the guildies. All in all a good time. Hopefully, server will come back up before bed and I can go in for another hour.

Yes, the access to the starting skills from lvl 1-10 is very helpful. I have found that taking flare first, followed by fighter melee hit and then hunter ranged shot. Works very well.

I stand off about 50m and fire 2 flares and then hit the steal life spell and then am ready to melee and bash until dead. If mob is slow I can get 1-2 hunter ranged shots off after flare before it reaches me with some backtracking.

For mob groups then same tactics but laying some hunter traps down first helps. You can have these by lvl 6.

Havent had much success with healer heal spell, always gets interupted, maybe if I maxed my quickness that might help

See you in game.
