A young Elf travelled in the forest. He had nowhere to go, nowhere to go back to. He didn't believe in destinations, for whatever he comes upon IS his destination. If he saw an animal in need, he would help it, making that his destination.
He suddenly heard a sound to the right. He looked at the exact location of the sound, having the ability to almost see sound. His father had brought him up to be extremely alert, and ready to prepare his bow in a moment's notice. By the time his head had turned to look at the sound, he had an arrow ready to fire. His Ash bow was hard to bend, but the Stallion Horse Tail Hair string was not a string to break easily.
The noise ended up to be an acorn falling from the Oak Tree he was walking under. He smiled and put his bow back. He seemed to be walking in circles, but he didn't mind. Waling around in the woods of his Glade was enough to keep him busy.
He happened to look at the ground that moment, when he saw a large footprint. Much larger than any other he had seen before. And the creature that bore the foot was heavy enough to sink the ground a few centimeters. He followed the step in progression, noticing that they had been getting lighter and lighter each time, until the point where there was no footprint. He climbed some nearby trees to see if the creature had jumped into one, but not a footprint was found. Being a ranger, he could tell even when a fellow Elf had been in a tree.
Perhaps the creature had wings. Nothing he had ever seen before or known had this much weight AND wings. Something was afoot. He had to get back to his Glade to tell the Elders. He needed to alert the Sacred Grove.
