There should be a basebuilding skills (that dwarves specialize in) called engineering or something like that. So you can capture a wooden fortress, and as your clanners gain more cash or resources, you could upgrade your forts size, build moats, towers,walls, and upgrade from wood to marble!!!!1 And with this there should be siege weapons (also a dwarven specialty). And unique addons to your base, like a dock. Or base traps, maybe boobie traps or my favorite..... a hidden fence circling the area near your base (hidden forest base who be nice) and your senrtries (on a tower) see a person wenter the area, but if you attack them, they'd log off or run, or whatever. But you should be bale to push a button, and the fence goes up and locks your tresspaser in! Of course, not everyone has this. You need to buy it, pay gms, get rewarded for clan wars, etc. I also think it'd be very cool to pay to transport (boats anyone!?!?) resources and use them to build. Some of which of which could be very rare and valuable and heavily guarded (like marble for base building) and you'd have to make a fleet escort so you don't get robbed (if on sea) or maybe wooden vehicles with escorts to transpiort resources over land. The possiblilites are limitless!!! I hope the admins see thuis and maybe do it. Thx for lizstening. If you gonna have forts youre gonna need siege weapons to lite ballistas and catapults. That would have been a fine addition =)

i highly doubt u will be seeing bases in the game.... it is to much hassle and one person cant customize a base the game admins are going to need to do alot just to be able to make ure base PRIVATE so that only you and people u know can get in and not to mention bases are not what mmorpgs are about have you ever seen an mmorpg where people just sit around inside castles and shoot stuff? NO its a multiplayer game with loads of people and that would make the game unfair for those who dont plan on making forsts and castles so dont be expecting bases n e time soon

Mord, what are you talking a bout? it's plenty fair, and mmorpgs arent about bases, but they can be!!! and i can guess by your attitude that you're not a fan of strategy games (cause youre bad at them {cause you're no smart}). Basebuilding is agreat idea that'd make this tgame revolutionary. and it'd become bigger than everquest!!!!1 admins, take a llok at thia idea. but dont do anything about this until after the beta! no offence, but me and everyone can not wati much longer. thx fro your support!

plus in regards to the thing about the navy posts ago... you'd have NPC's as general citizens/soldiers, who would support their local lord, hence you could have a navy consisitng of NPc ships unde you command, but player controlled ships will still have freedom

It'd be cool to see a whole town run by a guild, though...Just a thought. In the center of town, they have this big recruitment center, and in the basement of one of the slummy houses, they have all their meetings n stuff...cool concept. I like it.

Uhm. I might be wrong. But from what I gather you build fortresses one piece at a time. So basically if you want a stronger tower you tear down the old wooden one and build one of stone... Or perhaps there are an upgrade function (although upgrading a wooden tower to stone, directly, would be somewhat unrealistic).

As for all the other stuff... Well perhaps some of it is there. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

We can. Fortresses are supposed to be build-able if there are any 'slots' left in the area you try to build one... The devs (GM's, AD, whoever with the power to do so) reserve the right to remove it if you placed it in a 'bad spot' however.

As there will be ballons.. they could have a basket with iron plating.. some kind of flying missle platform*G* a bunch of archers shooting down. That is, if you are allowed to shoot from a baloon?
I guess a ballista won't work up there, too bad ( against dragons..)

Its a nice idea. Maybe the world IS huge enough, so most players can have this stuff.
