currently when choosing an alignment it is just based on what you like. right?

Well what happens if there are benifits and disadvantages with choosing one over the other? I know there are games where when you pk for no reason then your blacklisted and it is possible for you be killed!

Well, this game'll contain what they call Honor. If u kill a lowbie, witout reason, u'll be classed as an outlaw and get a pretty little 'Wanted badge' attatched to ur fine name.

I wonder if the wanted thing is sided (dark and light) or does it apply to both sides. I think it would be cool to be wanted by the darkside.

When i read the dev chat.. just now.. it said that only the opposite alignment could hunt the wanted according to alignemnt

where woudl the wanded posters be posted, if any
would the offenders wanted poster be on the town where they comit the crime, or in the oposing sides towns

All I know is that posters of the one making a crime will be put in a town, probably the capital, or in every town hall. Read the Dev chat and FAQ. Most thing's are in there.

Too bad people of same alignment cant hunt down a Wanted . After all it would be just bringing him to justice or something like that no ?

i think that if there is going to be a personality attribute, your alignment affects how NPCs deal with you (i assume there will be some), for example shopkeepers in the nice fair cities will be friendly towards paladins and other people with their alignment firmly on lawful/good and scared of people with chaotic/evil attributes, while evil NPCs will like evil players and will be scornful of the good players

perhaps your alignment will also affect whether other players will be allowed to kill you or not, usually you are not allowed to go around massacring people or the game turns into a deathmatch gore fest, but perhaps you should allow a good person to kill an evil person or vice versa, perhaps if the player views another player their alignment is displayed somewhere on screen, though you can restrict the fighting to outside of towns, so you dont get huge punch-ups in just about every town you visit

on final idea is to have your alignment define what spells, weapons and armour you can use, evil people can use certain nasty spells and cursed weapons while good players can use holy spells and blessed swords, for example

i reckon with these implemented the player will be able to make a proper decision on whether to be evil or not, since it will affect his gameplay significantly

I like the idea of NPCs attitude chnaging when dealing with people of differents alignment ...

They should also give rewards to the ones protecting the lowbies ..Theyl probably will

the problem is that when the game first starts and everyone who is beta testng likes to have fun. So we won't realize the benifits and disadvantages so if it turns out that you can't wield a something like a holy sword cuz your dark then it would suck having to start over unless at a very high cost one is allowed to choose another alignment.

Wait a minute.. are the alignments predetermined or is it a moral decision. i have a feeling that it will be a predetermined (choosen when you make your charecter) physical characteristc so it could be weird!

It would be a fine touch if you could change your aligment in the game and act as a "spy" for the others.

I think that it could be a problem doing that, So that's why i said that if you were changing alignment then it would have to be at a high price!

The Dark or Light alignment must be chosen while making character and cannot be changed but the lawful or not type of thing shouldn t be it can always evolve i mean good can easily be corrupted (well not certain strong spirits)

for the alignments Dark and Light refers more to a perspective than a proper alignment. Eg Dark isn't evil and Light isn't holy. Its just two different sides waging a war.

Plus if a character of your alignment was bad enough to earn a bounty then you would be able to go after him, the whole honor system and all.

I like your idea neorapsta. Dark doesn't mean Evil, Light doesn't mean good. But it would be REALLY cool if your moral behavior detirmined your alignment. For example, what would be the point of being Good/Light if you went around pking shoobs all the time? Doesn't make sense. So? What's it gonna be?

Dark isnt bad and light isn t good !!! Maybe you re a right but then again why pick dark if you dont have a slight preference for evil ...Dark has always beenassociated with evil and light wit good and i dont think its gonna change here . But it is true that you must be able to be evil when being light and good when being dark .. But im pretty sur Dark magic will be destructive and bringing death whereas the light magic will be more protective and defensive..

Thats how i see it :) (Mostly in my head comes back the example of a Warrhammer Fantasy battles where there was Dark Magic used by the dark elves and Light Magic by the high elves )

Yeah i go with Tere on this one. While it isnt stated that dark = evil and light = good - it's kind of automatice that we see the representation that way. But I dont know that there will be any clearly defined alignments. It is likely that there will be spies and traitors amongst us.
