Recently I came up with a question regarding the speed of mountable pets. I wanted to know how much faster a Epona will be, compared to a Dodo to justify the purchase for me. Since I didn't plan to use my mountable pets for fighting the only thing I was interested in, was their movement speed. So I asked a friend of mine (Cretain) to give me some numbers and I was quite surprised to find out that his Epona (31,5Km/h) seemed to be slower, than my dodo (40Km/h). Cretain then, suggested to do a live test-race and we've met at the frozen lake near the birthplace. The real outcome of this test has shown, that his Epona was faster and arrived approx. 10 seconds earlier, than me with my dodo covering the same distance.

Btw: Flying a delta also shows 40Km/h which cannot possibly reflect it's "real" speed. I had no chance to test out other pets, but my guess is that with higher price they ARE getting faster. The only thing I know for sure now is - Epona pwns Dodo! :D

I can understand that it might be too much for debug to show the speed when youre flying the delta, because its affected by wind and changes often.

But at least the basespeed of a mount should be shown correctly in there. Im not asking for the actual speed, cause that changes often too (when riding up a hill or down), but it would be good if we could at least compare the speed of mounts properly in there.

I always had the feeling that my horse was faster than the dodo, so I was really suprised when Kasgoroth told me his dodo is going 8.5km/h faster.

Debug has been this way since SoG, it is hardly a game stopping bug, dont count on it being HIGH on the to fix list.. many other issues aer more important.
