Hello everyone I am happy to have found this game. Let me introduce myself. My name is Starbuck. I have been in many betas in many games. I am currently Beta testing a game similar to this in fact. After reading the FaQ and some of the posts on the boards here I have decided that I will create my new guild in this game. I have lead some large guilds that have expanded into many MMOLRPGs. It was a great experience but I did not create the guild and had to get approval for many decisions from the founder of the guild. I learned a lot from him and I hope to bring that knowledge here and create a guild community that will enhance Dark and Light.

well done on your presentaion i very much enjoyed reading it. It does remind me of someone else i know but shes more of a mage type.

i noticed you spelt it MMOLRPGs, i havnt seen it spelt that way be for do you count online as 2 words?
i shouldnt realy be asking questions about spelling since everyone here knows me as the compulsive bad speller, but you can still see the meanings.

I was wondering if you guild will be dark side or light side.
I was also wondering about the values and future visions of you guild.

other than those questions i would like to wish you luck in this forum, it may seem all sugar and spice but,as you can see, the war with light against dark has already begun

As far as my guild goes it is Neutral for now. The reason for this is that I personaly cant stand one side having a huge advantage. If there are ten Light guilds and only three Dark guilds then I will implore my members to consider the Dark. It may be that we stay Neutral, if that's possible and work with whichever side will profit us most.

I may be changing the name of the guild too. The name was set up for a diffrent game. In that game the god that became chaotic did so after he lost the love of his life. In that respect Gray Lady Down was an chaotic guild. It also fit in well with the lore for the game. That may not be an option with this game. So the name may better reflect our ideals. I'll go into better detail later.

Also I thought I explained my name well but I'll repeat. I always get the Starbucks comment but it is not the basis for the name. I choose Starbuck as a name due to an old TV show called Battle Star Galactica. That show is being remade by The Sci-Fi Channel. The script got out and it was disclosed that Starbuck, a man in the first series, would be a woman in this new series. So it all fits in well with my role-playing.

Anyways, Starbuck, you said your guild was going to be Neutral, unfortunetly, in the game there is only Dark and Light. If you plan on waiting until the game goes live to choose a side, I would adivse against it. There are a few reasons. One is that if you have a guild with mixed members (some light and others dark) your going to have a problem when you have to choose (most likely they would find another guild, rather then switch sides).

Thanks for your comments as well. I dare say that Catz has impressed me. She answers questions quickly and is often around. I do not wish to hold any title that may shun such a wonderful person. It is appreciated however it is also unwarranted. You will see in hot debates that I tend to forget myself as far as grammar and spelling go.

I also will state here and now that I will not be boxed into a corner. Has it been stated hard and true that there will only be dark or light? If there has could I respectfully have a link to the thread? There is so little information about this game available to us. I again dare to say that nothing is set in stone yet.

By the way have they named their sponsor/producer for this game. It's surely not UBI so could anyone let me know please?

And also (Found in the FAQ - General):
2 protected learning Kingdoms. 2 alignments are opposed to impose their magic, the Dark one and the Light one.
And somewhere else in the FAQ it taks about the two moons controlling the magic cycle (no room for neutral unless an eclipse ;) ), and it also says Darks can't attack fellow darks and Lights can't attack other lights (so a neutral guild could not function properly in war...)

thats not true.. you can do friendly duels
and in theroy you can attack anyone.. but the penalty to your sxp would be great

Of course you can attack your own people. Because it has to be realistic, you CAN attack your own people. I think they meant that you can't start a war against your own faction!

In all quoted remarks within this thread, there has been no definitive answer to the question of neutrality. The only thing that is proven within these comments is that there will definitely be dark and light factions. It would stand to reason, in my mind, that if there was once one moon and one people there would still be those who would see no reason for division and would find a struggle between the two pointless. I will stand with the lady on this one. I too, will not be forced down either of two trails but instead blaze my own, if need be. I can't imagine that mercenary work would be excluded from this game. If so, then it will be a sad dissapointment.

you are forced
you have to choose light or dark
you can me a mercenary.. but its very unlikely that you could mercenary for the other side
still if you do choose light or dark you can trade and not attack each other..
(trade being important)
but you are forced. whethor or not you act thorough it

I had a feeling someone would say that! hehe. Nice observation by the way. The name in no way reflects my order affiliation. It is more of a personality trait description.
