View Full Version : How will you go about choosing your persona?

Just wondered how everyone will decide which race/type of character to be. I'm sure i will struggle with this some. What influences will help you choose? I have been influenced greatly by reading the Dragonlance series. I was never a big D&D fan but it runs along the same lines and will probably edit my character as much as possible based on the attributes of some of my favorite characters from the world of Krynn.

DnD has made a big impact on me but, all I really care about is wither or not I get my own item shop. To sell items to you good people. Awwww item's *run's in circle's*

I am a really, really old-school rp'er, dating back some 15-20 years :P
Basically in any online game, my persona is more of a paladinesque nature, as nearly all of my D&D chars were paladins and it is what I play best :)
However, I tend to adapt to the situation as need arises, one day, I may be a goodie-goodie helping out anyone and everyone that I can, and the next a dark brooding type that just wants to be left alone. It all depends on what is going on around me.
I love to roleplay, and often find myself getting lost in a game for hours focused on a particular roleplay. Watching the actions of others and deriving how I should react is the greatest thrill for me when it comes to roleplaying.

Heh, im probably not the biggest fan of rp'ing but i do like it.
When i rp i only choose between 3 options either im a barbarian, thief or an archer (always human).

The more options the better. Yeah and I am also influenced by the people and events going on around me. Magic magic magic - I love it. But its good to step into other roles to and see the game from different perspectives. I really hope our players can have interchangable options/strands. So we can work on mage strand or warrior strand or a combination and have those other non combat but enhanced game skills like emotes, smithing, fishing, cooking, etc.
