Off topic intervention on "Interview with Vuaar" thread - split thread

This thread has been split from the "Interview with Vuaar" thread as it was off topic.

The format is due to a small technical problem that has occured while splitting the thread;

That statement is false. I was not hired to create a graphical engine and I did not develop a technology when at NPCube. I worked on the DnL project and on the Mafate engine which makes use of the terrain technology I've been developing since 1996, a technology which is now called VWorldTerrain, formerly called V-world, which does not belong to NPCube nor Farlan in any way.

The above quoted statement is in total violation of my Intellectual Property Rights.
I therefore demand these boards that this should be stated as I am here exercising my right to respond to these allegations.

I thought this matter was sorted out but apparently not. Hope they will get it sorted out then.

Good luck,

The statement is an answer from an interview. You are of course welcome to express your disagreement with it on this forum if you wish to do so (which I think has been made now). However, the thread containing this interview only intends to provide Vuuar's given information about the game. We are not going to modify it accordingly to this forum members' requests.

Since you are free, like everyone else, to express you opinion here, you also have to follow the rules like everyone else. Trollism/flaming won't be accepted. But do not mistunderstand me, this is not a warning, your last post was fine, I just want to make sure you remain careful.

Now that your disagreement was posted, I think we can let the players decide by themselves who they prefer to believe.

Thank you.

The statement itself is not in violation of your IPR, unless you are claiming some form of ownership of the words Vuuar used in his statement?

well it is kinda slanderous

It's like me saying in an interview

"Lord Feste said its okay to push old ladies over"

Well not exactly like that but you get the point right

what does this say in english? seems strange to post french in the english section of the forum

Ansyen

If he had any legal issues, he'd be dealing with this in court, not on a forum. That's a bit juvenile

Back on topic:

Any idea how long Vuuar was in Paris? Time to get those servers safely nestled in their new home? Hmm?

In his last article he is kidly criticizing an article from 2003 ... I wonder why he did this ... consequently, I don't take him seriously anymore.

I hope the game itself has this much drama. Maybe they can run an event based on this.

My last post in the original thread has been lost - basically it was stating the following :

These forums are intended for the community or the game.

Therefore, they are not the place to bring the matter opposing M. Pourieux and NP3, as they are not related to the players or to Alchemic Dream.

I suggest M. Pourieux to contact the right people regarding this matter : NP3/Farlan themselves, or an attorney.

If there is indeed a problem with intellectual property, as he claims for a long time now on the unofficial forums, it should not be a problem.

In the meantime, any attempt to involve players or Alchemic Dream in this matter is not acceptable, and I will moderate it accordingly.

I quote the 'forum index' to make my point.

"General Discussion; General discussion about everthing that is DnL related"

"Off topic discussion; Here you can discuss about everyone that is not DnL related, starting polls..."

Apart from 'everyone' should actually be 'everything', to my mind this thread is about DnL, ergo, is now in the wrong forum.

Sorry to myself and others for making this post.

I disagree for the reasons Serpico stated. This is not a topic for us to discuss. If any such matter exists between this guy and his former employer then public forums are the last place it should be opened for debate. If there is no valid dispute, it would be inflammatory due to it's baselessness and still should not be allowed.

The fact that NP Cube has not posted on these forums and indeed, may not even read them has been established and is the source of all the hate that our pet forum trolls have for Dark and Light. Therefore, for anyone to think that by posting here they would be opening a discussion or even clarifying a point for NP Cube to see, is just wrong. Ask AD to pass something along? Yes. Talk to anyone beyond Alchemic Dream? Where's the precedent? Where is the post?

Ansyen,

I agree that the tone and some of the content of Pix's post is not constructive. While I agree with the 'split', I don't agree with the move to 'off-topic forum'. As for him being a troll and starting a flame, i disagree with you. Primarily because a flame comes into existence depending on how people together decide to respond to one another.

It is my hope that through what I had hoped would remain 'open dialogue', that this conflict can begin to be resolved and likewise I do not see why the player base should not be involved in this, as it is indeed them, us, that is suffering and coming off worse due to it.

I would like to see both parties swallow their pride, work again with one another and provide the product that was claimed to be delivered all this while. I think both parties have every thing to gain from such a reconciliation and a lot to loose from continued hostility.

I considered the matter at hand to be the potential legal issue between Pix and NP3 - which I feel related to these two entities, and not to the community or the game. Hence, the choice of the "off topic" for this split thread, with a redirection left on the original thread.

As I always said before, I'm available for PM's discussion.

It might depend how the code from the VWorld terrain made its way into mafate.

Could be they started from scratch

Or they worked on the VWorld code itself.
