Just got an email from C&B and after going through the first pages here, it looks like nobody else is in the same situation...

I bought the Pioneer account a year ago but as the game hadn't fullfilled what was promised I just played 2-3 days after launch.
Especially I never applied for any kind of subscription or freedom pack and carefully checked that no reoccuring payment was due or any kind of subscription running (actually at that time you couldn't change anything on Pioneer Accounts).

Let's quote the official mail from June:

You've been offered two free months of subscription to Dark and Light.

In order to keep playing for free after the 7th of June, we require you to activate your Master account for your free access period.
At the end of this free access period in Dark and Light, you will have to determine if you want to keep playing as a Master Subscriber or change to the Freedom Card account type.

Today C&B charged me for 9,99 Euro and stated that I authorised them to do so on the 24th of November last year!

As I don't want to go through the trouble of canceling the transaction and probably getting future trouble with C&B (I use it for other payments too) I kindly request to change my subscription status and refund the 9,99.

Same here. I never subscribed to this game. Only time I typed in my cred card info was when I bought pioneer pack, so please. Without trouble, give me my money back.

When I signed up for my pioneer account, the Terms and Conditions were blank. I don't know what that means legally, but I'll find out if I need to. I noticed pretty early on in C&B that the account was set up for "easy collect" and realised that they fully intended to charge me. If I was that bothered I'd have spoken to C&B a long time before now, especially given Farlan's exceptionally poor history of processing payments.

If you think that you have a case, and I'm sure you do, you'll not get any answer from Farlan here. You'll need to find an email address and hope that they answer. Get in fast. you'll not be the last to complain.

Ok so today I open up my email and see an email from CB saying I had been charged 9.99 I bought the game last year but I never subscribed to the game since I can't play since my ATI card won't work with the game. Now how exactly do I go about getting a refund on a game that I never subscribed to but am getting charged for.

it happen to me too, i never loged into the dark and light account to chose a subscription or accept the terms, i also tried to cancel my account both with dnl and c&b.

Now i got the same mail as psio. Loged into my account, master was not selected, neither was freedom pack, but i thought i be on the safe side, and select freedom pack. it then stated the same msg as psi got, that you would charge me 5euro.

I have sent a mail to both click and buy and dark and light support, wanting to clear this up. Still waiting for an answer.

I never tried to get my money back, when i shortly after preordering, figured out i wasnt going to be able to play the game anyway. Thats okay, dont care about that now, but h#¤l no if im going to pay more for a game i never played.

Please fix this, there is atleast 5 more users i know off with the same problem. Even 2 that have been charged with the preorder amount tonight, they canceled there preorder before xmas, and got there money back then.

What is going on?

I got the same non-sense.

I never subscribed to this game and I have no intention of paying for this.

If I don't receive an apology letter and a refund here shortly.

You can expect a charge back from my bank and whatever they fill like doing on the fraud side.

I did not agree to anything with Click and Buy, other than the original purchase which was a mistake.

today i've just been charged for 2 subscriptions!

Well, luckily I had the fore sight to go to my Click&Buy account and put my monthly spending limit to $0.50 so they couldn't collect.

I did get an email today saying I owe them $9.99, but I'll never pay them. I sent them a nice email back asking where my map was.

yay! got charged today for 1 month subscription even though I cancelled the account in beginning of July and recieved a confirmation email stating account was cancelled. WTG!!!

I tried that, but i get wrong password when i try to change my spending limit. Might be a different password then the one i used on the account, sure, but there is no way to reset it as far as i can see, and the one i have stored isnt the right one. So im screwed either way it seems.

Like a few others said, i too will go to my bank and say it as it is, fraud. And let them take the task of sorting out the legal matters.

Atleast that is what i have planed if staff or click and buy dont fix this by tomorrow.

I returned this POS way back when it was in the Settler phase. I don't own the game, and never had any intention after returning it of paying fees for server access. That's downright illegal, and if the charge hits my bank you can count on one hell of a lot of trouble. You can't charge someone server access fees when they don't even own the client-side software, bozos.

Got the same garbage today!! Charged the 9.99. I went in and revoked the quick collect. I tried to call C&B but they were closed. Unbelievable

Same thing happened to me. Bought the pioneer account last year and never signed up for any kind of subscription since then. Just got an e-mail from click and buy saying I've been billed for $9.99 by Farlan. I havent been able to log into the game for months. Not that I would want to anyway. Just Farlan scamming a few extra bucks before they go belly up.

LoL. I did the exact same thing! Set my monthly spending limit to 1.5$. Since the unsubscribe button doesn't work, this is one of the easiest way to cut 'em off. No chance in hell that I'm gonna give 'em 10 Euros a month for this game.

I never subsribed to any package, lucky though i had my credit card number changed a few months back and have also just revoked easy collect payment on click and buy.

Its amazing how after a year there still trying to scam people.
